I looked at him, his gaze was more intense than ever.

His gray eyes are darker in colour and they hold this power that I couldn’t look away.

Aren’t Onyx’s eyes orange?

That is what I know for sure but things can change I guess.

This made me remove my eyes from Dante and then look at Marcus.

“Remind me how old you are again Marcus? I think it was about 150 years old. Just because you are stuck in the body of a 20-year-old doesn’t mean you should act like one,” I said and he rolled his

eyes at this.

“This is why I was against making a mere mistress into a member of The Order. Look at her, she thinks that she is on our level,” he retorted with a scoff.

“Trust me, the fact that I am part of this Organization embarrasses me more than it does you.

Because I have to be lumped up with the likes of you and look at your face,” I said and then

shrugged.

“Trash like you is beneath me,” I added and I watched as his eyes changed colour.

“b***h, who the hell do you think you are?” Marcus asked standing up as if ready to attack.

In a matter of seconds, he was pinned against the wall.

I watched as he was kicking and kicking to get out of Dante’s hold.

I couldn’t enjoy Marcus’s struggles because my eyes were on Dante who was holding him up.

He was holding a powerful vampire who had been part of The Order for about 5 decades.

He was holding him up like he was nothing but a piece of paper.

I mean I can take on Marcus like he is nothing but a piece of paper.

But that is because for the last few years, I have been training like a maniac but it seems like I

I watched as Dante buried his hand inside the man’s chest and came back with his heart.

He took the handkerchief that was on the man and threw him on the ground and his heart

followed.

He then wiped off the blood and then sat down like nothing happened.

His gaze fell back to me and he just sat there looking at me the whole meeting.

I tried to avoid his gaze by not looking up at all.

But I could still feel it on me for the whole duration of the meeting.

Alpha King huh?

I can understand why he is Alpha King because he is even more powerful than before.

Hell, it feels like his power somehow multiplied in the past 5 years.

One has to go through vigorous training to reach such a level.

I always knew that Dante had a lot of potential and that he was holding back his power.

Especially after I found out that Onyx had all these abilities.

I do wonder now, has he unlocked more abilities along with more power?

Kane who was sitting next to me tapped me on the shoulder and I looked at him.

He knew this whole time he knew that Dante was the Alpha King.

Hell, I was surprised at how insisted he was that I come here.

He is aware of how busy I am but doesn’t seem to care at all.

He brought me here so that I could see Dante.

The meeting was adjourned and a hand held mine a few seconds later.

I didn’t need to ask to know that it was Dante’s hand.

“We need to talk,” he said and I followed him to his room.

The moment we got to his room he closed the door behind him and locked it.

“Soundproof the room,” he demanded and I nodded.

I did as he asked and then looked around his room and noticed a whole bunch of white lilies in his

room.

“There is a total of 1846 white lilies in this room,” he said and I looked down so he didn’t see that I

was tearing up.

“That’s the number of days I have been gone. I have been gone for approximately 5 years, 2 weeks, and 3 days,” I said and he nodded at this.

“But who is counting huh?” he asked me and I chuckled at this and nodded.

He hugged me from behind and I let myself melt into his arms.

“I am sorry I left like that,” I said and he shook his head at this.

“I couldn’t protect you, I am the one who is sorry for failing you,” he said.

Huh, so you are telling me that in all this time we were both blaming ourselves.

“I didn’t come for you because I realized that I failed you.

But now things are different Jade, I have the power and influence to protect you and everyone you love,” he said and pulled me even tighter.

“So come home with me, I have been miserable without you,” he said and I turned around to look at

him.

He also had tears in his eyes and I didn’t want to break his heart.

Not today, not right now when we are meeting again after so long.

I put some distance between us because staying in his arms for longer would make me agree to

his deal.

I really want to run into his arms and ask him to take me home.

“I am sorry, you must have gone through a lot for the past few years.

You probably trained until you couldn’t move.

And I am sorry to be the one to tell you this, but you are still powerless,” I said and he looked at me

confused.

“I am the Alpha King, I have become a man feared far and wide. I can go toe to toe with that

madman, I can protect you, Jade,” he said and I nodded.

“All you can do is fend him off. Can you kill an evil spirit? Killing the body he is currently inhabiting is pointless because he will just jump into another one,” I pointed it out to him.

I watched as the color drained from his face as he realized I was telling the truth.

“I am sorry to be the one to break it to you. But our situation hasn’t changed yet, we are still cursed

to be apart from one another,” I said and moved to leave the room but he held my hand.

“I don’t care, I don’t care if I have to fend him off for the rest of my life.

I don’t care if I have to kill every single body he inhabits or how innocent they are.

I am willing to kill anyone and everyone just to be with you.

I don’t think I can live another day without you Jade,” he said holding my hands.

The sadness in his voice and on his face made me want to hug him even more.

To hug him and tell him that all will be okay, that he is the most important person in my life as well.

“But I can Dante, I can live without you,” I said and then walked off.

I walked to my car, I was not sleeping in this miserable place where I needed to sleep with one eye

open.

I found Kane leaning against my car and he smiled as he looked at me.

If Dante knew, then it would motivate him even more to come for us.

If he knew about our son, I know he would never let us go.

But there is also something I am curious about.

Will he hate me for keeping it a secret for the past 5 years?
