Chapter 129: Rhea

“You are not here to question me about my life choices, are you?” I asked him, and he shook his
head.
“The Vampire Prince would like to see you,” he said, and I frowned at this.
Why would that maniac want to see me?
He didn’t even attend the meeting today and dared to summon me, as if I were one of his subjects.
Just because he is dying, he thinks that he can order everyone around.
“No,” I said, and he sighed at this and then smiled.
“Well, he knew you would say that and said to tell you that he has a solution to your little problem,” he added, and I looked at him, confused.
I only have one problem, and it isn’t exactly little.
“Fine, but I am not driving. You are,” I said and threw the key to him.
We got into the car, and as we were driving away, I looked in the car mirror and noticed Dante was standing there and looking as I was driving away.
The last thing I want is to break his heart. I love that man more than life.
But our son, his safety is something that I can never risk.
That madman, when he found out I was pregnant, came to threaten me.
He wasn’t happy that I had a child with Dante, but he couldn’t do much about it.
He made it clear that if Dante ever found out about our son, then he won’t spare me.
I hate living on borrowed time and at someone else’s mercy.
I hate that feeling more than anything, but I can’t risk Tom’s safety.
And yes, I named him after my best friend Tommy.
However, we use a different nickname for him.
The world we live in is all about balance, one life for another, or something like that.
I think there is a saying for this: when one door closes, another opens.
The fact that I found out that I was pregnant after he died also felt like a sign.

I thought that I was going to be very lonely, but I was wrong about that.
I had someone who supported me throughout the whole thing.
A person that I know I can trust to protect my child, no matter what.
The Vampire Prince’s castle came into view, and I rolled my eyes at this.
Does he have to be so dramatic with everything he does?
Claim
This place has electricity and everything, but he still insists on lighting candles and fire sticks like
he is some medieval villain.
The gate opened, yes, you guessed that right.
The man had an electrical gate installed, but didn’t add a few lights to the damn place.
We got out of the car and walked into his castle, which is colder than anything.
|
guess he doesn’t feel the cold, so he doesn’t seem to mind.
I walked in and found him sitting at a massive dining table.
A woman was sitting on the other end of that dining table.
“You are here, Jade,” Kael said, and I rolled my eyes at this.
“You said something I couldn’t ignore. You have 2 minutes to get to the point, or I am out,” I said,
and he chuckled at this.
He immediately went from playful to deadly serious as he looked at me.
“I am still the Vampire Prince, you know,” he said seriously, and I rolled my eyes at this.
“Do
you
think I would be scared of a dead man walking?” I asked him, and he chuckled at this.
I think he has some kind of bipolar disorder because the man can switch up his emotions in a
matter of seconds.
“That won’t be for long, and hopefully you won’t be separated from your foolish husband for too
long,” he said, and I sighed.
“Call my
husband foolish again, then I will do you and everyone a favor and kill you before that curse does,” I said, and he raised his hands in surrender.
“I heard he became an Alpha King, it’s a little sad, isn’t it?” he asked me, and I looked at him,
confused.
“Having all this power and still feeling powerless,” he explained, and then sighed.

“A witch powerful enough to take on armies by herself. An Alpha King who has command over millions of werewolves and yet they can’t be together,” he pointed out.
Claim
“Just like a certain Vampire Prince I know. He has a lot of witches on his payroll and enough money to build and bring down nations. Knowledge gained from all his time on this earth. And yet, he is on the brink of death,” I pointed out, he is in a similar situation.
He chuckled at this and gestured that I sit down, and I did that.
He must have a reason for calling me here.
“Meet my beautiful guest and soon-to-be wife,” he said and pointed at the girl sitting across from
him.
“Did you just say wife?” I asked him, and he smiled at this and nodded.
“The girl in front of you, her name is Rhea Ravenscar,” he said, and I looked at the girl he was talking
about.
“Ravenscar? As in the wiped out and now extinct Ravenscar?” I asked him and he nodded.
“Almost extinct, she is the last of them,” he answered, and I looked at her.
The red, long, and beautiful hair was a dead giveaway.
But I didn’t even go that way because, from what I know, her clan doesn’t exist anymore.
But what does Kael want with her?
I looked at her and started connecting the dots, and then looked at him.
One whose blood can cure any illness and curse?” I asked him and he
“She is the one? Is she then
nodded.
I looked at her and could tell that because her aura felt different.
She is obviously a girl from a superior clan than mine, just by looking at her. Her clan has been
feared for centuries.
“And why would a witch marry you? And she can cure your little curse. Why is she still alive?” | asked genuinely interested.
“She is an odd one, this one. She seems to hate the witches even more than I do,” he answered and
looked at her.
“I hate everything and everyone in this world, and I have thought of destroying both,” he said, and I looked at him, confused.

Claim
“That is what she said to me,” he added, and I looked at Rhea.
“So you are going to help her destroy the world?” I asked him, and he shook his head.
“He is going to help me take down people who make this world an unbearable place to live,” Rhea
suddenly spoke up.
“Jade was it?” she asked me, and I nodded.
“You seem really smart. I am sure by now you know that evil spirits don’t leave hell on their own,”
she said, and I nodded at this.
As I was doing my research, I realized something: it doesn’t matter how powerful an evil spirit is.
No one can summon themselves from the pits of hell to this world; someone did.
Not only that, but that person does it every time Dante and I are reincarnated.
This is because once Dante and I die, whatever binds the evil spirit to this world is gone, so he
goes back to hell.
Which means that someone has been plotting to separate me and Dante for centuries.
There is another shadow in the dark, which is more powerful than that madman.
Which is why, instead of looking for a way to banish him to hell.
I am trying to find a way to get rid of him permanently.
I looked at Rhea, and my eyes widened when it all came to me.
“You are telling me that immortal witches exist?” I asked her and she nodded.
ले
But the only way they can exist is by some kind of miracle.
My eyes widened yet again as I looked at Rhea, and she nodded at this.
“You got it right, for centuries, they have been killing people like me. Hunting down people in my family just so they could have eternal life. And I am next,” she said and then sighed.
She looked outside, and now that I was looking at her, I couldn’t believe my eyes.
From what I know, she is younger than me in age, but her skin suggests otherwise.
She has pale skin as if she has never been outside a day in her life. It looks really unnatural the more you look at it.
And that blank look in her eyes tells me that she doesn’t have a lot to live for.
She looked almost lifeless as she looked outside.

As if nothing makes her feel, as if she is completely numb to the world around her.
Claim
“They killed your entire family and then locked you up, didn’t they?” I asked her and she nodded.
“Is that why you sacrificed yourself to this asshole?” I asked her and she nodded.
“They are going to kill me anyway; if I am meant to die anyway, then I will make sure to take a few people with me,” she answered.
Huh, I looked at the Vampire Prince and the girl crazy enough to sacrifice herself to him.
How will this story go?
