Chapter 130: The Universe

Jade’s pov

I looked at Tom who was sleeping peacefully.

“You should go to work,” Mom said and I nodded at this.

“I heard that Dante is now the Alpha King,” she said and I sighed at this.

“Yes, I met him at the meeting last,” I answered.

“You know him very well, he isn’t going to give up so easily,” Mom said and I smiled as I looked

outside.

“That’s what I am hoping for,” I said and took my diary and opened it.

I showed her the page that could solve all my life’s problems.

“How is this even possible? Even the Order didn’t have such resources,” Mom pointed out and I

nodded.

“But someone else did, from an old family of witches. I think they were the first ones to create such spells,” I answered and she nodded.

“But did you test it out?” she asked me and I nodded.

“Well then, seems like the universe is on your side now,” she retorted.

I got off the blankets and Mom got in and went back to sleep while I got ready for the day.

When I left Dante a while ago I didn’t know where to go.

So I drove home.

Actually, I never thought that I would drive home at that moment.

And she also understood why I had to leave while Jay and Dad didn’t really agree with my decision.

But I know that they were against it for my own good but then I didn’t want to risk their lives.

Mom decided to quit being Coven leader which was a huge deal for her and she let Jay step in.

Dad has been helping Jay and Mom came here with me.

The woman can keep a secret and she had three kids so she knew about them more than I did.

Not to mention that she is strong enough to protect him if anything happens.

I got out of the shower and smiled when I found my mother and son sleeping soundly together.

It’s been hard being away from everyone I love but I got to see this.

I got to see my mother as a grandmother and a really good one at that.

Tom loves her a lot, it’s almost hard to believe that this is the same person who raised me.

It was actually refreshing to see her without the weight of the world on her shoulders.

I finished up and then headed straight to work and just like today I didn’t get any flowers from

Dante.

Last time when something like this happened, he brought the flowers to me himself.

Honestly, I don’t know if I am just taking a huge risk with the whole thing.

“Head Nurse Jade, the Director asked to see you,” one of the nurses said and I nodded at this.

I walked to the Director’s office and before I could knock the door opened.

I went in and the door closed behind me and I didn’t need to turn around to know who it was.

“So you are the new Director of the hospital?” I asked him.

He hugged me from behind and buried his head on my neck.

“Yes, it sucks that I have to buy an entire hospital just to spend time with my wife,” he said and I

turned around to look at him.

“You could have just called,” I said with a smile and I watched as he looked at me surprised.

“You are not angry?” he asked me and I shook

head.

“I need to get back to my job now, how about dinner?” I asked him.

“I would love that, this is the hotel I am staying in. I heard that they have a really great steak,” he

said handing me a card.

“Well then, Director Dante, see you later,” I said and then walked out of his office.

I can tell him everything later today, but how do you even begin to tell someone that you have a

child with them?

Thanks to Rhea my hands aren’t tied at all.

I will be able to tell him everything that I have been hiding from him all this time.

Rhea, that girl is going to be a force to be reckoned with.

What Kael said is something that I find to be very concerning but it got me thinking.

That girl told Kael that she doesn’t have the power to destroy the world and if she did then she would do that.

I always thought that what I went through with my mother was bad.

I had to swallow the darkness of our Coven but it was all for the good of the people.

I finished up everything at work and took a shower there and got ready for my date with Dante.

As I was leaving the hospital I found him standing outside leaning against his car.

He had this beautiful smile on his face as he looked at me.

It feels so good that I don’t have to push him away anymore.

I get to be with him once again after so many years of being apart.

I owe Rhea for this, I know that I agreed to help them with their problem but she helped me fix a

huge problem in mine.

She managed to lift this huge load that was on my heart the whole time.

“Wow, you look really beautiful,” Dante said and I smiled at this.

“Well, thank you very much,” I said and he pulled me into a hug.

“Your scent disappeared from the room about 4 years ago,” he said and I looked at him.

“But your scent is a little different now, why is that?” he asked me.

Well, I was hoping we would have dinner first before telling him but I guess now is the time.

“Stop doing that,” he said and I looked at him confused.

“You are busy biting your lower lip,” he said and then leaned towards me.

“Aren’t you wondering why I haven’t kissed you yet?” he asked me.

Well, I really didn’t think about it so far because I was fighting my own urge to kiss him.

“Well, I didn’t really think about it,” I answered and he smiled at this.

He didn’t explain why he hadn’t kissed me yet but opened the door for me.

I got inside and he drove straight to his hotel and we went to the restaurant.

“Sasha and I have a daughter,” he informed me and I smiled at this.

“I have heard, any idea what she is yet? Is she a hybrid? A werewolf or a witch?” I asked him and he

sighed.

“Honestly, that’s the last thing on our minds right now. Dove, she doesn’t talk, she is almost 5 years old but has no energy and no appetite,” he answered and I could see it was weighing on him.

It’s probably because of the way she was conceived that led to this.

Dove was never meant to exist, so the universe or whoever is responsible for maintaining balance.

“Dove is a beautiful name,” I said and he smiled at this.

“It is and she is the cutest thing I have ever seen. I feel powerless because I can’t do anything for

her,” he said.

We continued to eat when he suddenly paused and then looked at me.

“You have become more beautiful, I don’t think I can take my eyes off you,” he said and I smiled at

this.

“Thank you, but what do you think about my long hair? Should I cut it again?” I asked him and he thought about it..

“Not yet,” he answered and put his hand in mine.

“How about we take this upstairs? I am in the suite, it has a really large and comfortable bed,” he

said with a smile.

“I mean, I have had a long day and wouldn’t mind having a good night’s sleep,” I answered and he

chuckled at this.

“You won’t be getting any sleep for the next couple of days. I suggest you take some time off work,
