“Since we didn’t have breakfast, we will stop somewhere along the road so you can all grab something to eat.” Alpha Dante said changing the topic which I was grateful for.

“Yes, I am starving.” Sasha said.

The two kept chatting on the way while I was busy focusing on my book with headphones

The car stopped, and I looked up and realized that we were near a supermarket.

We all got out of the car and the moment I got inside, I headed to the fridges and started looking for ice cream.

I was about to grab the last caramel flavor when a pair of hands grabbed it before me.

I looked at the thief, and it was Alpha Dante.

“I saw that one first,” I said, and he just shrugged.

“I grabbed it first, finders keepers.” He said with a smile.

“Finders keepers, how old are you?” I asked him and he just shrugged.

“Well, and here I was thinking that I would give you the ice cream.” He said, and I smiled a bit.

“I was just kidding, you are a very mature and handsome man. Now give me the ice cream.” I said, and he shook his head.

“No, there are other flavors here. Take one of those.” He said, and I sighed.

“I only eat caramel, I need the caramel flavor.” I said, and he just shrugged.

“You won’t die if you don’t eat it. And why should I give you mine? You said it yourself that we are only husband and wife only on paper. Had you been my actual wife, then I would have happily made this sacrifice for you.” He said, and then walked away.

“Why are you doing this?” I asked him, and he looked at me confused. “You don’t even have a sweet tooth. You said it yourself last night when I offered you that ice cream. Then why are you suddenly doing this?”

I watched how his face went from a smile to a full-blown smirk. “I thought you didn’t

remember.”

His gray eyes were scanning my face, trying to gauge every reaction.

“I only remember that part. It’s not vivid, but I remember a little.” I tried to save myself, and he

chuckled at this.

“How convenient for you, Jade. You remember the one thing that could get you this ice cream, but don’t remember other things that could get you in trouble.” He said, and I scoffed.

“I did nothing that could get me in trouble.” I argued and he shook his head.

“You kissed me, Jade, do you remember that?” He asked me.

“I did no such thing.” I said and then just took any flavor I could find and stormed off.

“Do you really not have any other caramel flavors?” I asked the cashier before paying.

“Yes, ma’am, someone called this morning and bought all of them. Only left one.” She answered, and I nodded.

What the hell, why that flavor and not other flavors?

“I am here to collect my order. I bought the caramel ice cream that was in the shop.” I heard Alpha Dante say to the other cashier.

I turned around to look at him, and he had a smirk on his face.

He was already eating the last caramel ice cream.

So he is the freak who bought all the ice cream, but why?

Chapter 15: Alpha and Luna

Jade’s pov

I looked at him and frowned. What game is he playing?

“Are you honestly going to have ice cream for breakfast? Jade, you need to take care of yourself.” Sasha said with a frown as I was paying up.

“You are not eating that.” She added, taking the ice cream away. I looked at her confused and she just rolled her eyes at me.

“You don’t scare me.” She said, and I smiled and then nodded before looking at her mate. She followed my gaze and watched as her eyes widened.

He had about 50 tubs of ice cream in front of him.

“I think you should handle that first.” I said, snatching back mine from her.

“Dante, what is this? Why so much? You don’t even like sweet things.” She said, and he just shrugged.

“I don’t know, I felt like having one today. Plus, I wanted to buy them for everyone, and I didn’t know what to buy.” He answered,

“I hear that, but then why buy only one flavor?” She asked him, and his eyes landed on me.

“I don’t know, I just felt like it.” He answered, and I walked outside. His uncle, mother, and the henchman were also coming out.

Mrs Odell took the ice cream tub away from me and then her son and gave each of us a bagel.

“Have something to eat first.” She said firmly.

After breakfast, we got back on the way and drove to their pack.

As we got to the pack, I frowned when I noticed the crowd of people standing outside. They were bowing their heads as if welcoming royalty.

“Gosh, why didn’t you listen to me and wear something presentable?” Sasha asked me. I looked at what I was wearing and then back at her with a frown.

“What is wrong with what I am wearing?” I asked her, and she sighed.

“You are wearing sweatpants.” She pointed out. I just shrugged at this and then looked

I was wearing black sweatpants and a hoodie.

“You look like someone who is grieving.” She pointed out. I looked at her and then at Alpha Dante, whose eyes were on the road.

Although they were both wearing jeans, they seemed really presentable. I also noticed just now that they were wearing matching clothes.

I found myself smiling at the sight of dark blue jeans and white t-shirts.

I bet my sister forced the poor guy to dress like that. Or maybe she took out his clothes and arranged all of this because men don’t care about such things. Or maybe he does, and why should I wear jeans on a 5-hour drive?

I hardly get time for myself, and when I do, I want to be as comfortable as possible.

“Dante, say something.” Sasha said after I ignored her.

“What do you want me to say?” He asked her, and she sighed at this.

“Some pack members will be seeing her for the first time. First impressions are a huge deal.” She pointed out.

“I think you are worried about the wrong thing. You think people will care about what I am wearing? The only thing that will be on people’s minds is that I will be sleeping with my

brother-in-law.” I retorted. She didn’t look at me but looked down.

Alpha Dante was the one who looked at me, but he also didn’t say anything.

The car came to a stop, and we all got out.

The moment my feet touched the ground, I was engulfed in a hug.

“OMG, you are even more beautiful than I remember.” A gentle voice said.

“Stop it, you are killing her.” Alpha Dante said to the girl hugging me.

She moved away, and I managed to get a better look at her. Her blue eyes sparkled, and her black hair made her look even more beautiful.

She is saying I am beautiful, she is probably the most beautiful human I have ever met. Almost like her older brother, their black hair is just so shiny and perfect.

“By the way, I am Tia, and I am Dante’s younger sister.” She said, and I nodded.

“I am Jade,” I answered casually, and she chuckled

“Sasha did say that you are not very good with words.” She said. “You left so early at the wedding that I didn’t get to say hello.”

“Okay, give her some space.” I heard a boy say as he slightly pushed Tia to the side. “I am Alec, I am the handsome brother.”

He is handsome, but not the most handsome brother for certain.

“Hello, I am Jade,” I said yet again.

“You have said that already.” Alec said, and I looked around,

All eyes were on me and I didn’t like it at all. They were looking at me, and it felt like they were judging me.

“Everyone, please stop overwhelming her.” Sasha said, and then held my hand. “Come on, little sister, I will show you around.” She dragged me inside the house.

She seemed so free and alive in this place. I mean it is her home, so I understand why she would feel like that.

I looked around the large mansion and realized he might be way richer than we are.

The Bennet family has a lot of money, but most of it is old money. But with him, you can tell that most of it is new money. Everything here is modern and new, almost as if walking into some house from the future.

Sasha showed me around the first floor and all I wanted was to go to whatever room I would be given and sleep.

“So, your room will be on the second floor. I will have someone clean it for you.” Sasha said.

“Well, there is no need. Brother had already called ahead of time and had a room arranged for Jade. She is on the third floor.” Tia said,

“What?” I heard Mrs Odell say that she wasn’t happy. “You want her on the Alpha and Luna floor?”

“That is not possible, son, you know that the Alpha and Luna floor is reserved for only Alphas and their Luna.” His uncle said, and I chuckled a bit at this.

All eyes turned on me, and I just fake coughed to hide the smile.
