I have sat besides of lot of people who were dying and taking their last breathes,

I have listened to their regrets and most of them had wished that their loved ones were there and they could say goodbye.

Not only that, even families who couldn’t say goodbye as well.

I have met them and I have had to watch the pain in their eyes.

I don’t know why, but I can’t bare to see someone in pain.

Which is hard being a nurse, I deal with people who are in pain most of the time.

I felt two eyes on me and I turned to the direction and I found Alpha Dante looking at me.

I can’t seem to figure the man out at all.

He goes and kisses me out of the blue and then talks about how he is not attracted to me.

Maybe he was trying to check if he was attracted to me last night.

And he kissed me and realized that he wasn’t.

I sighed at this, why am I letting all of this consume my mind?

“We are here,” a family of 6 walked in and I looked at them.

This is going to be an even bigger problem than I anticipated.

“When did you all start feeling poorely?” I asked them and they all looked at me confused.

“I am asking you something, answer quickly,” I said and the older woman nodded.

“Well, I started feeling depressed about 3 months ago,” she answered.

“And I have been having a bad case of insomnia,” another one answered and I frowned at

this.

“I can’t keep food down. But why are you asking all us this?” they asked.

I looked up and found that guy Ben looking at me with a smile.

Before I knew it I was flying across the room.

I landed on my feet and looked at the person whose red eyes were now on mine.

“I told you I am not a lowlife,” he said and I frowned.

“Everyone, please take a few steps away from him. Probably as far as possible, I

underestimated him,” I said and Ben smiled.

“I am going to kill you for this b***h, once you are dead the mark will disappear right?” Ben

asked me.

“Yes, the mark will disappear,” I answered and he chuckled.

“What’s going on? I thought you had him under control,” Sasha said and I sighed.

“Well, there has been a new development. He isn’t just linked to Ben’s body but also his soul, not only that but he has been feeding for months,” I answered.

“Feeding? What the hell is going on here?” Piers asked.

“Spirits feed, but they feed on positive emotions. They feed on all your happiness and joy. Feed on what makes you happy. If you like sleeping then you will suffer from insomnia. If love food, then you won’t be able to eat,” Sasha explained.

I think she could tell that I wasn’t really in the mood to answer any more questions in the

moment.

Let me end this, my day has been ruined already.

“Once I start the spell, you have 5 minutes to say goodbye. That is all I can give you,” I said to his family.

They were confused and also really sad and scared as well.

Ben, he seems to be in his early 20s just like me and seems to have had so much ahead of

him.

Who did this to the poor guy?

And why?

What do they want and who are they spying on?

My eyes landed on Alpha Dante whose focus was still on me.

I closed my eyes and started chanting the spell and heard as he started screaming in pain.

“Okay, you can talk now,” Sasha said to them.

“Mom, what is going on?” Ben asked a little confused.

Poor guy, he has had about 4 months of his life stolen and when he finally gets it back it’s only for 5 minutes.

“Honey, you are dying,” his mother said and I opened my eyes to look at them.

“But it’s okay, don’t worry about us kiddo. We will be just fine,” his father said.

Ben’s eyes landed on me and I smiled a little at this.

“Is it because of that thing?” she asked me and I nodded.

Claim

“Yes, that thing has been eating away at you and your family. The only way to get rid of it if to kill you in the process,” I answered and he looked at me.

“He said you will die, why are you doing this? Why are you risking your life so I could say goodbye?” he asked me and I just shrugged.

“Because I think everyone deserves to say goodbye. Don’t waste your time on me, say goodbye to them,” I said and he nodded.

“Can we hug him?” his mother asked me and I nodded.

I watched as his entire family hugged him and they all said their heartfelt goodbyes.

“Chris, you can have my room since it’s bigger,” Ben said and I closed my eyes.

I have done this so many times before but it always hurts every time.

Flashback

“Come on,” Mom said as we entered the secret cave.

“Why did you bring me here? You know I don’t like this place,” I said and she didn’t answer.

She suddenly stopped and I looked at the direction she was looking in.

I frowned when my eyes landed on Tommy’s dad.

His eyes were red.

“What happened?” I asked Mom who sighed.

“I don’t know who and how, but someone got to him. His body has been linked to the evil spirit,” Mom said and I frowned at this.

“Who the hell is doing this? And we were with Tommy’s dad a few days ago. You didn’t detect it and neither did I,” I said and she nodded.

“I think whoever is summoning them is someone powerful or clever,” she answered and I looked at Tommy’s dad.

“No,” Mom said before the words could leave my mouth.

“I am not asking, Tommy is my best friend and he deserves to say goodbye,” I said and she shook her head.

“Will you risk your life for one person?” she asked me and I nodded.

“If I must then I will, and it’s not just one person. His entire family should say goodbye,” I said.

“If you think that I will let you risk our life just for a mere goodbye then you are dead wrong,” she said firmly.

“We are killing him, I suggest you do it because you are more kind and lenient than me. That is the only reason I bought you here,” she added.

“What if it was me, what if I was on that other side of these bars and I was in those chains?” I asked her.

“You wouldn’t want to say goodbye to me?” I asked her and she sighed.

“My daughter would be dead, and all that would be left would be nothing but a monster,” she answered.

“Go and tell them, they have about 3 minutes and that’s it. You are not doing the spell alone, I will join in,” she said and I smiled at this.

End of flashback

Tommy and his family were completely broken but also glad they got to say goodbye.

“Jade, your nose is bleeding,” I heard Alpha Dante say.

He came to me and I shook my shoulders.

“End this f*****g spell right now Jade,” he yelled and I looked at Ben and his family.

“Thank you,” he mouthed.

“JADE END THE f*****g SPELL NOW,” Alpha Dante yelled one last time.

I ended the spell and the after effects came to me in full force.

The pain that feels like I have been stabbed by a thousand needles.

“f**k,” I heard Alpha Dante say as he picked me up and put me on the couch.

“I am fine,” I said as I got up from the couch and walked towards Ben.
