Jade’s pov

“What was the song he sang back then?” Mira asked and I smiled.

“I can’t help falling in love with you,” I answered.

“Ow, you still remember the song,” Jane said and I nodded.

“So Tommy, I heard that you are a musician,” Tia said and Tommy nodded.

“A struggling one,” he added and then looked at me.

“Why are you being rude?” I asked Alpha Dante he just shrugged.

“I am merely asking Teddy a question,” he said and I frowned.

“His name is Tommy, and he isn’t a struggling musician. He is actually a composer who wrote great songs that are now hits. He is just being modest,” I answered him and he frowned.

“How was I supposed to know?” he asked and I sighed.

“Alpha Dante, forgive Jade, you shouldn’t talk to him like that. He was genuinely curious,” Tommy

said and I frowned.

“Jade is my wife, you don’t need to apologize on her behalf,” Alpha Dante said and his eyes landed

on me.

He ruined the mood completely because everyone became silent.

“Addison, I heard that you found your mate,” Jay said trying to change the subject and fill in the empty silence.

“Yes, well technically I am his mate. Witches don’t have soulmates,” Addison said.

“So, have you mated yet?” Mira asked and Addison shook her head.

“Do you have something to say?” Sasha asked her and Addison chuckled.

“I think I just said it,” she retorted.

“Enough,” Mother said and everyone kept their mouth shut.

I looked at Addison who had a frown on her face.

She thinks that she needs to defend me all the time.

“Okay, what is everyone wearing tomorrow?” Sasha asked hoping to fill in the silence.

“I have this beautiful dress ready for me,” Tia answered.

“A suit,” Alec answered and everyone didn’t seem to want to answer the question.

“Oh, I have something for you but it’s in my bag,” Tommy said.

“Let me guess, you bought her a dress,” Piers asked with a frown.

I looked at him, his mood was matching that of his Alpha and Beta.

“No, but I probably should have bought you a dress,” Tommy said totally ignoring Piers’s tone.

“You only got her something? What about me?” Addison asked him.

“Do you want to see it?” he asked me and I smiled and nodded.

“Let’s go to Jade’s room, it has the best view from the balcony,” Addison said as we got up.

We got to my room and then Tommy took his bag and opened it.

He then took out two books and I smiled when I saw that it was limited edition.

“No you didn’t,” Addison said and started jumping around.

“I will go to my room before that macho man decides to come and get me,” Addison said after

some time.

“Good night you two,” she said and then kissed my forehead.

“How is life treating you here?” Tommy asked and I sighed.

“Well, I really haven’t had the time to process it yet. But I am just looking forward to the day I get the hell out of here,” I answered and he nodded.

“You are the oldest child in your family. You need to protect them,” I informed him and he smiled at

“Huh, honestly I care about you so much. You know this right, I have loved you since we were kids. Every love song I write about, it’s you that I think about,” he said.

“Just promise me, then, in the next life you and I will be together,” he said and I smiled.

I was about to make a pinkie promise when someone grabbed my hand.

I looked up and found Alpha Dante standing there looking at me.

I was about to speak up but he didn’t let me.

Instead, he crashed his lips into mine and I froze in place.

He pulled away and I watched how he looked at Tommy.

“Teddy, my wife and I would like to sleep now,” he said.

Tommy looked at me and smiled.

“Of course Alpha, I am sorry,” he said and then got up.

“Good night Jade,” he said and I smiled.

“Good night Tommy,” I said and he walked out.

The moment he closed the door I pulled my hand away from Alpha Dante.

“What the hell was that?” I asked him and looked at me confused.

“What was what?” he asked acting all innocent and I scoffed at this.

“Teddy? You and I both know that you know his name,” I pointed and he nodded.

“Yes, his name is Terry,” he said and I sighed and then took a deep breath.

“Why did you kiss me?” I ask?

him and he just shrugged.

“Because I wanted to,” he answered.

“I heard everything you two talked about,” he added as I was about to walk out of the room.

“Do you love him?” he asked me.

His voice was low and for some reason, the room suddenly got chilly as well.

I was about to answer but he raised his hand.

I looked at him and he had this scary look on his face.

“Next time when you try to make such a promise. Just remember this,” he said and I frowned.

“Are you threatening me?” I asked him and then scoffed.

“I heard your conversation with my sister. Did you hear me interrogate you about it? No, you are not attracted to me and I get that. But you have a problem when I like someone?” I asked him.

“Did you ever hear me say that I am not attracted to you?” he asked me.

“You don’t need to, and it’s okay that you are not. But don’t act like you are my husband,” I yelled

back at him.

“I don’t need to act Jade, because newsflash I am your f*****g husband,” he said and I looked at

him.

The nerve, what the hell is wrong with him?

I turned around and as I touched the door knob he spoke up.

“If you go to him now, I swear to the moon goddess that I am going to kill him,” he said.

But his voice was different, I turned around and his eyes had changed color and he had fangs.

“Why are you doing this?” I asked him and he walked towards me.

He rested his forehead on mine and his eyes never left mine.

“YOU ARE MINE,” he growled.
