Chapter 34: Bad for us

Dante’s pov

That was Onyx, he said that.

“Why did you just say that?” I asked my wolf but he didn’t answer.

Instead, he cut the link between us and I looked at Jade who was looking at me.

“I am sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you,” I said and she scoffed.

“You didn’t scare me you dimwit. You pissed me off,” she said and then pushed me away.

“And what did you mean by I am yours?” she asked me.

Her brown eyes scanning my face, and I tried to find the answer but had no answer.

“Leave my room,” she said when I didn’t answer her.

“I said get the f**k out,” she said and opened the door.

I looked at her, she was angry and left no place for an argument.

I left the room as she said and then went to my bedroom

“You are sleeping here tonight as well?” Sasha asked me and I nodded.

“I think I understand why Jade was so angry today,” Sasha said and I looked at her intrigued.

“Well, I think she hates me because I took her away from Tommy. Those two were madly in love even as kids,” she explained and then sighed.

“I just thought that she would be over him by now,” she added.

I got up and went to the closet to get changed.

“What are you doing?” Sasha asked me as she walked in as well.

“I am going for a run,” I said and took a second pair of pants.

I feel suffocated, which means that Onyx probably wants to go for a run.

Plus that son of a b***h owes me an explanation for the stunt he pulled earlier.

Why on earth would he claim her as ours when she isn’t?

“How about you stay here, I can help you burn off a few calories,” Sasha said and I looked at her.

“I told you, as long as your sister is here then I am not touching you,” I said and she frowned at this.

“Why is that? I don’t understand, Jade is the one who proposed the deal of only staying her until she gives birth. If your marriage was forever, would you have set these rules?” she asked me.

“I don’t have time for this,” I said and walked out leaving her there.

I started walking and when I got somewhere far from the pack mansion I changed into my wolf.

“Now talk,” I said to Onyx who decided to just ignore me yet again.

“Why the hell did you do that?” I asked him.

“It’s your fault, your damn feelings and emotions for that girl got to me as well,” he answered and I

frowned.

“What are you saying?” I asked him and he growled.

“I lost control,” he answered and kept running at full speed.

Losing control, first, it was me and now it’s Onyx.

He suddenly stopped running and started sniffing the air around us.

We caught it, Jade’s scent with Onyx’s nose was now very clear.

“Well, it seems like we have a problem,” Onyx said.

“What is the problem?” I asked him and he didn’t answer.

He then turned us around and then started walking towards the scent.

“If you are like this because of a few kisses. Imagine what would happen when you finally sleep

with her,” he said.

“Not only that, but you would be the first man she ever sleeps with. That will only drive you crazy,” he said and I found myself smiling at this.

“Drive me crazy? Sounds like you are scared,” I said and he scoffed at this.

“I fear nothing and no one,” he answered.

“It doesn’t matter, our problem will be resolved by the end of tonight,” he said and then continued running in Jade’s direction.

We finally spotted her and she was just standing against a tree looking up.

“I am going to rip her neck off,” Onyx said and started sprinting towards her.

I tried to talk some sense into him but I could sense his blood lust.

He was going to kill her and I couldn’t do anything about it.

He got ready and jumped going for her neck but he suddenly stopped.

Jade fell down in what seemed like she was in pain and started wincing a little.

She looked up and Onyx just stood there looking at her.

“Kill me now or forever hold your peace. I can sense your blood lust,” Jade said and then smiled.

“So Alpha Dante, even your wolf wants me dead,” she added.

What is happening?

What is she doing outside so late at night?

Why does she seem to be in so much pain?

We watched as her eyes started slowly closing and she lost consciousness just like that.

What the hell is happening?

Onyx walked closer to her and observed her carefully.

He put his left paw on her leg and I frowned as he started absorbing her pain.

When he was done, he gave me back control and then shut the link between us.

Luckily my extra set of pants was near so I ran and got them and got dressed.

I looked at Jade, what the hell was she doing here?

What was going on with her?

I picked her up and headed back home.

When I got to her room I found Mrs Bennett busy pacing around the room.

She looked at me and then at Jade and then she sighed at this.

“Put her on the bed,” she simply said and I looked at her confused.

“What are you doing here so late?” I asked her and she rolled her eyes.

“Answer me or get out, I have every right to know. This is my wife,” I said and she looked at me surprised.

“Well, if you don’t want your wife to be in unbearable pain. Then do as I say,” she said.

So she knows what is happening with Jade.

I put Jade on the bed and then watched as her mother held her hands and started chanting a spell.

She frowned and then looked at me confused.

“She isn’t in pain,” she said and I didn’t react.

“Is that what you want? For her to be in pain?” I asked her and she shook her head.

“No, where did you find her?” she asked me and I looked at her.

“Now, what the hell is wrong with her?” I asked her and she just shrugged.

“Well son, turns out I also don’t answer to you,” she retorted and then left the room.

That woman, for some reason I really don’t like her.

“I also don’t like her. She made Jade cry,” Onyx suddenly said.”

“Since when did you start caring about Jade? You were about to kill her a few minutes ago,” I

retorted to Onyx.

“She is bad for us,” he simply answered and yet I still couldn’t understand.

How is she bad for us?
