Chapter 35: The solution

Dante’s pov

“What do you mean that she is bad for us?” I asked Onyx who didn’t answer.

“Onyx, answer me, is she our mate somehow?” I asked my wolf.

“No, she isn’t our mate. We are mated to our mate,” he answered.

“So how is she bad for us?” I asked him and he sighed at this.

“Because she is turning us into him. If we are not careful then we will be just like him,” he explained

and I was even more confused.

“How are we like him? We are nothing like that man and his wolf,” I retorted and my wolf scoffed.

“You are his son, his wolf and I are also related. His bond with his wolf was the same as ours,” he

said and I frowned because I still couldn’t understand.

“I have my own will, but so do you. Normal werewolves feel what their wolf feels and are usually controlled by their wolves,” he explained but I already know that.

“A wolf is programmed to love only one person that is their mate. Which means, whether the human likes it or not they will love that person,” he explained.

“I know that, get to the point,” I said.

“You and I are different. We both have our own will and because of that we think and feel differently at times,” he explained.

Well, I know that part too well.

“However, if whatever feelings you have are too strong. Then they also affect me,” he explained.

“When you were jealous of that short guy, your feelings were so strong that they overwhelmed me. Which is why I also reacted,” he explained.

“But you hate her, if that’s the case then shouldn’t your feelings affect me somehow?” I asked him.

“Does this mean that you don’t really hate her?” I asked Onyx who just sighed like he couldn’t take

anymore.

“Then what is the solution?” I asked my wolf.

“For now just keep your distance. Let’s pay attention to our mate. Try not to think about her,” he

said and I frowned.

That is going to be harder than I thought.

Because right now, all I can think about is her, what was she doing in the forest in the middle of the

night?

And that pain that Onyx absorbed from her.

Why was she in so much pain?

He is right, we should focus on our mate and not other things.

I looked at Jade who was now fast asleep and then walked to my bedroom.

I showered and joined my mate on the bed.

She opened her eyes and looked at me with a smile.

“I thought you said that you would be touching me,” she said with a smirk.

“I changed my mind,” I said and then pulled her closer to me.

Maybe one of the reason I feel so attracted to her is because of the fact that Sasha and I haven’t

slept together in days.

As a werewolf and an Alpha one at that, my libido is very high.

“I missed you so much,” Sasha said an hour later and I sighed and got off the bed.

“What’s wrong?” she asked me and I just shrugged at this.

What the hell is happening to me?

Why can’t I get her image out of my mind?

I just had s*x with my mate but all I could think about was her.

I got showered and then headed straight to my brother-in-law’s room.

I knocked a few times before he opened and he looked at me confused.

“Alpha Dante,” he said and then got out of the way.

I walked into his room and started pacing around.

“I need you to do something for me,” I said and he nodded at this.

“Is there a way to check if someone has cast a spell on me or something? A way to check if I have magic in my body,” I said.

He looked at me confused but he nodded.

“Do you want to do it right now?” he asked me and I nodded.

“Okay, I just need a few things,” he said and then took out a few herbs from this bag.

I was glad that he didn’t ask me any questions, how was I supposed to tell him that I think Jade

cast a spell on me?

Ever since that night, I can’t seem to get her off my mind.

“Please sit here,” Jay said and I did as he told me.

Jay is training to be the Coven leader so I am sure he will be able to do this.

He started chanting a few words and then burned some sage before looking at me.

“You are clean, I don’t sense any magic at all. Not on you or your wolf,” he told me.

“Are you sure? Is it possible that you didn’t pick something up?” I asked him and he shook his head.

“Casting a spell on someone is different from a mere object. It requires more energy and also time. If someone had caste a spell on you, then you would have known and I would have sensed it,” he explained and I frowned.

Then how do I explain this feeling?

I couldn’t sleep for the rest of the night because of all these questions.

The next morning I sat at the breakfast table and I probably looked terrible.

“Brother, you seem like you didn’t sleep a wink,” Tia said.

“Yes, are you okay brother?” Alec asked him and I nodded.

“I am fine,” I said and my eyes landed on Jade who seemed to be ignoring me.

Does she remember anything from last night?

Does she remember that my wolf tried to kill her?

“Jade, I was hoping that you would help me with something,” Mrs Bennett said.

“I am going to work, I am busy,” Jade answered.

“What do you mean you are going to work? Yesterday was the full moon,” her mother pointed out

the obvious.

“I am aware of that fact ma’am, so what of it?” she asked her mother.

“You can’t go and work after a full moon,” her mother retorted.

“Why?” Mr Bennett asked his wife who looked at Jade.

“Answer your husband, what happens on a full moon that I can’t work the next day?” she asked her

mother.

“Nothing,” Mrs Bennett answered but no one was convinced by it.

“Don’t go to work, I was hoping the three of us could spend some time together. If that is alright with you Alpha Dante,” Terry said.

“Why do you need to ask his permission? I am the one you want to spend the day with,” Jade asked

before I could answer.

“I mean, he is your husband,” Tommy said.

guess he isn’t all that bad, well except the part where he asks my wife to make him some bogus

promise.

“That won’t work Terry, I have made plans with Jade for this whole day. She must have forgotten, did you forget what we talked about last night?” I asked her.

I watched how she squinted her eyes at this and then she smiled.

“When did we talk about it? Was it before your wolf tried to kill me last night?” she asked me.

All eyes were on me, did she have to say it in front of everyone?
