Jade’s pov

I looked at him and watched how he frowned.

“What? He tried to kill you?” Mother asked me staring down at Alpha Dante.

“It is just a misunderstanding. Can we talk about this privately?” Alpha Dante asked me and I just

smiled.

“Why should we? The people who made the decision to get us married are in this room. So if the husband they forced down my throat tries to kill me then they should know,” I said and he sighed.

“He really tried to kill you? Is this true Dante?” his mother asked him.

“Mom, it was just a misunderstanding,” he tried to explain.

“You almost killed my daughter, and that is the only explanation you have to give?” my Dad asked

him.

He was now standing up and staring down at Alpha Dante.

“No offense to everyone in this room. But that is a matter between me and my wife,” he said firmly.

“Jade, let’s talk,” he said and got up from his chair and turned to walk away.

I remained seated which made him turn around to look at me.

“Get the f**k up,” he cursed angrily and I just smiled.

“Actually, I am really scared. What if you try to kill me again?” I asked him.

He sighed and then walked towards me.

“Get up, or I will make you,” he threatened me.

“Say what you want to say in front of everyone. There are no secrets between you,” I said and he

nodded.

He picked me up and threw me on his shoulder like I was a sack of potatoes.

“What the hell is wrong with you?” I asked him as I was trying to get out of his hold.

“Put me down you dimwit,” I yelled but he didn’t listen to me.

“I did warn you, but you just didn’t listen,” he said and slapped my ass.

I looked up and all eyes in the room were on us.

To them, it just seemed like we were having a lover’s quarrel.

He should count himself lucky or I would have kicked his ass.

He got to my room and then threw me on the bed.

He closed the door behind him and then locked it.

“Why did you have to say it in front of everyone?” he asked me and I looked at him confused.

“I didn’t know that it was a secret. And it was just a precautionary measure, if I died then they should know that my dearest husband did it,” I answered and he sighed.

“It’s a misunderstanding,” he said and I looked at him.

“I sensed it, the blood lust your wolf had. I saw as he ran towards me with the intent to kill me. What did I misunderstand? The only thing I don’t get is why he didn’t kill me,” I said and he frowned.

“Do you want to die so badly?” he asked me and I smiled.

“I am not scared of death. Especially from a coward wolf who would sneak up on me in the dark,” I

answered.

“And who the hell are you calling a coward?” a voice said but it wasn’t Dante’s voice.

His eyes

had changed color and were now orange as he looked at me.

“You must be him, the coward wolf,” I said and he scoffed at this.

“You should really watch your tongue, little witch,” he said and I just shrugged.

“Or what? Are you going to sneak up on me and kill me in my sleep?” I asked him and watched how his eyes scanned me.

“If I wanted you dead then you would be dead,” he retorted and I nodded.

“Look at that, you can’t even kill someone properly,” I said and then took a few steps towards him.

“I am here now, you know you want to kill me. Do it, or the big bad Alpha can’t even kill a little witch?” I asked him.

He chuckled for a few seconds and his eyes landed on me.

“I helped you last night and the other day. I took away your pain, so you owe me,” he said and I

chuckled as well.

“I have been keeping your little secret for days. Now, how do you intend on paying me back?” I

asked him and watched how he smiled.

“I could break your pretty little neck right now and you could die with that secret,” he retorted.

“You think my neck is pretty? I would be flattered if it wasn’t coming from a coward,” I retorted.

He then started walking towards me but I stood my ground.

He lowered himself a little to my level and then removed strands of hair from my face.

“My name is Onyx,” he introduced himself and I just shrugged.

“Should I care?” I asked him and his lips touched mine slightly.

“You really should care,” he said and then his eyes changed back to their usually dull gray color.

Alpha Dante looked at me with a smile on his face.

“Well, things just took an interesting turn,” he said and I just frowned at this.

“I am hungry, I am going to go and eat,” I said and turned around to leave.

He suddenly hugged me from behind and I froze in my spot.

“I would never do anything to hurt you,” he whispered in my ear.

His other hand went inside my shirt and he started drawing circles around my stomach.

“I am sorry, what happened last night will never happen again,” he added.

“How can I believe you? You are hot and cold around me. Sometimes you kiss me and other times you ignore me. You don’t like me but have a problem when other people do. You are confusing me, “I honestly said.

“Maybe it’s because I am confused myself,” he answered and then buried his head on my neck.

“Let’s just go with the flow,” he added.

This wasn’t meant to be complicated, it wasn’t meant to be this confusing at all.

We just had to have s*x and then I got pregnant and that’s it.

But it has become so complicated that even I don’t understand what is going on.

“Now tell me, what were you doing in the forest last night? Why were you in so much pain?” he

“Well, it’s the truth,” I said and he nodded and pulled me into a hug.

“Let’s go and eat,” he said and I looked up at him.

He is about 6,4 feet tall and here I am standing at 5.5 feet.

I sat back down and started eating my food while people just looked at us.

I looked at Alpha Dante and then sighed.

answered.

Alpha Dante looked at me with a smile and then continued eating.

“I wonder what he did to you. You changed your tone so fast,” Addison said looking at me.

I just shrugged at this and took a sip of my juice.

The rest of the day went by so fast that by night we were already getting ready for the so-called

party.

I looked at the long elegant black dress I was wearing and then at my hair.

It’s really hard to style short hair sometimes.

I just did a sleek back hairstyle and then looked at my neck.

I do have a beautiful neck, I smiled when I remembered Onyx’s words.

“You look breathtaking,” Alpha Dante said and I turned around to look at him.

Damn, the man looked good in a tux.

“You don’t look too shabby yourself,” I said and he smiled as he walked towards me.

He took out something from his pocket, “turn around,” he said.

I did as he said and smiled when I felt something a little cold touch my neck.

Usually, when I write a chapter, I have a clue of what to write on it. But this time I was going with the flow, hope you liked it. I was honestly pleased and I didn’t see any of it coming.
