Dante’s pov

I looked at her and sighed.

“You are not going to the event,” I said and she looked at me confused.

“What are you talking about?” she asked me.

“You heard me, you are not going to that event,” I repeated myself and she sighed.

“I don’t have the time for this,” she said and was about to leave the room but I held her hand.

“YOU ARE NOT GOING,” I said firmly and she rolled her eyes at this,

“And why is that?” she asked me.

“Because I say so. Because I don’t want you to go,” I answered.

“You don’t even have a valid reason for telling me that. Then why should I listen to anything you

have to say?” she asked me.

“Because I am your husband,” I retorted and she looked at me.

Her brown eyes seemed confused but there was something in there as well.

I watched how she smirked as she looked at me as if challenging me.

“I thought you would be happy, after all, after tonight I might get out of your hair,” she said.

She is enjoying this, is she happy at the prospect of finding a mate?

She is that happy to leave me.

“Lock her up in her room,” Onyx suggested and I sighed.

“That won’t work, she is a witch. She can probably open any door,” I answered.

“I need to go and do some shopping, so unless you have a valid reason for why I shouldn’t go then get out of my way,” she said.

Why is she so stubborn?

This isn’t the first she isn’t listening to me.

Okay, now her little stunt has reminded me of what she did last night.

and she sighed.

“Fine then, I won’t go to that party. But I have a condition,” she said and I nodded at this.

“Anything you want,” I said and she scoffed and kept a straight face.

“Leave my sister for me,” she said with a straight face.

“What? What did you just say?” I asked her and she nodded.

“You heard me right, you want me, right? Then leave your mate for me,” she repeated herself.

I took a few steps away from her and she watched my every move.

“I won’t do that, I will never do that,” I said firmly and she smiled.

“Why?” she asked me and I scoffed at this.

“She is my mate,” I answered and she nodded.

“I should give up the chance of finding my mate. Why? Because you want me. But you won’t leave your mate, can you see the hypocrisy in this?” she asked me.

“You are talking about someone I am already mated to. We are talking about someone you haven’t met and who probably doesn’t exist,” I explained the difference and she scoffed.

“Yes, and the only way to prove that is if I go to that event,” she retorted.

Why does she have to be so stubborn?

She looked down and I saw her chest rising up and down.

She is angry and so am I.

Why is she being so stubborn about this?

I know that my request is selfish but can’t she just fulfil it without a fight?

She looked up and I saw tears in her eyes.

be devoted to me. Is that too much to ask? Don’t I deserve that?” she asked me.

The tears started falling from her face and I stepped closer to her.

I tried to touch her but she held her hand up to stop me.

“You have my undying devotion,” I said and she looked at me.

“That’s not enough,” she retorted and I sighed at this.

“What about me? Am I not enough for you?” I asked and she looked down without answering.

“Remove the choice,” Onyx suggested which I found confusing.

“What are you saying?” I asked him and he sighed.

“Consummate the marriage, it’s one of the reasons she listed downstairs. Let’s put a child in her

and that will stop her,” he explained.

“We could have done that a long time ago, we wouldn’t be in this situation had you not threatened

me that night,” I reminded him.

“What is done is done. Now do this, I will handle the rest,” he said and I was still confused.

What is left for him to handle?

I looked at Jade, I pulled her towards me and she looked up.

I wiped off the tears on her face.

“I hate seeing you cry,” I said and she didn’t answer but just pouted.

I captured her lips with mine and she slowly melted into my arms.

I picked her up and placed her on the bed.

She wrapped her legs around me, I felt as Onyx joined in as well.

I slowly moved down her neck and started leaving wet kisses.
