Chapter 57: Heart

Jade’s pov

I opened my eyes and then looked around the room.

I found Dante sitting on the couch and his eyes were focused on me.

His hair was a mess and his shirt was unbuttoned all the way down.

Judging from the look on his face I am in deep trouble so it’s not the time to admire him.

“How long have I been sleeping?” I asked him and he didn’t answer.

He just got up and left the room.

The silent treatment huh?

I sat up and looked at my body and all those red spots were gone.

I should have come to him yesterday then I wouldn’t have suffered all night like that.

But I thought that he would be suspicious if he knew that I had those things but Sasha didn’t.

I sighed and closed my eyes for a second.

What now?

Addison just had to open her big mouth and tell everything.

I should really get a new friend, one who won’t reveal my secrets.

The door opened and Dante stood there with a tray of food in his hands.

He then walked near me on the bed and took a bowl of chicken noodle soup.

He took a spoon and blew a little air since it was still hot.

“My mom made it,” he said but he was still very cold and distant.

Is this how he felt when I did the same?

I feel terrible and I just feel like crying.

Hell, I want to go on my knees and beg for his forgiveness.

“I will feed myself,” I said trying to take the spoon from him.

He just glared at me and I put my hands down.

It’s not a good idea making him even angrier than he is.

I started eating and there was silence that I didn’t like.

I could feel his anger, damn he is really angry.

When I was done he got up and put the bowl away.

He came back with a glass of water and I gulped down the water.

I handed him the glass and he turned around to leave.

I hugged him.

I panicked and hugged him from behind.

He didn’t say anything and just stood there as I hugged him.

“I hate lying, I don’t like deceiving people. And I really hated doing it to you,” I said.

He tried to pry my hands off him but I held on as tightly as I could.

I rested my head on his back and I could feel his chest rising up and down.

“You lied to me, I hate lies,” he said and he was getting even more furious.

“I understand that, I know that I lied. But I didn’t do it to hurt you or anyone. I didn’t hurt anyone,” I said and I was suddenly pushed back on the bed.

I looked at Dante who was staring down at me.

“You didn’t hurt anyone? You got hurt Jade, you didn’t sleep all night long because you were in pain,

” he said furiously.

“I am okay, I can handle a little pain,” I said and he nodded at this.

He then walked off and punched the nearest wall and the room started shaking.

“You don’t have to, I don’t want you to be in pain. When you are hurting, I feel that pain too,” he said

and I looked at him.

Now that I think about it, he seems to be hurting than angry.

I got off the bed and walked towards him.

“Well, then I think we have a big problem,” I said and he looked at me confused.

“Because when you are hurting, it hurts me too,” I said.

He sighed and I watched as his eyes softened.

“You are okay now?” he asked me and I nodded.

“I am fine, but you don’t seem okay. Did you sleep last night?” I asked him and he shook his head.

“I couldn’t sleep,” he answered and I sighed as I looked at him.

I held his hand and then led him to the bed and he followed.

I could tell that he was still angry and was doing his best to control his anger.

I made him sit on the bed and he frowned as he looked up at me.

“You are okay right?” he asked me and I nodded.

“I am fine, I feel just fine. You need to sleep, both of you,” I said to Onyx as well.

“How do we trust you, Jade lies,” Onyx said and I nodded.

I kissed his forehead and then looked at Dante.

“You won’t seduce me intò forgiving you,” he said and I smiled at this.

“I wasn’t trying to,” I said and took off his shirt.

“Then what are you doing?” he asked and I just shrugged and took off his shoes.

I put his legs on the bed and his eyes followed all my movements.

I made sure he was lying down on the bed and he let me.

I joined him on the other side as well.

I rested my head on his chest and he wrapped his hand around me.

I opened my eyes and I almost screamed when I found someone looking at us.

It was Sasha, she was just standing there looking at us.

“Can we talk?” she asked me and I looked at her.

What was that look on her face?

I could have sworn I saw a look in her eyes that I didn’t like.

I tried to move but Alpha Dante’s hold on my waist got stronger.

He opened his eyes and then looked at Sasha.

“You should knock,” he said to her and she tried to say something but couldn’t find the words.

“I just need to talk to my sister,” she said and then looked at me.

“Not now, you can talk to her tomorrow morning,” he said and pulled me towards his chest again.

“Close the door behind you,” he said coldly and I found myself confused at this.

She didn’t say anything but just walked out but his words seemed to hurt her.

“That was harsh,” I said and he sighed.

“Are you one to judge? You have been lying and deceiving me,” he said and I sighed.

“Yes, but you aren’t speaking like that to me. I know that you are probably even angrier with her

because she is your mate. I heard that we get angrier at the people we love,” I said.

He suddenly sat up and then frowned at this.

“Is that what you think? That I am angrier with her because I love her?” he asked me and I just

shrugged.

“You got hurt, her actions are the reasons why you got hurt. If anyone does anything to hurt you, even if they don’t know it then I can never forgive that person,” he explained firmly.

“Why is that?” I asked him and he pulled me towards him and placed me on his lap.

“Because you have my undying devotion,” he answered and buried his head on my neck.

“I am hungry,” he suddenly and I suddenly remember that he probably hasn’t eaten.

“I can make you something to eat,” I said and he looked at me with a smile.

“You are trying to buy my forgiveness?” he asked me.

“No, there is a saying that the best way to a man’s heart is through his stomach,” I answered.

I watched how his eyes lit up and he had an amused smile.

Gosh those dimples, with his messed up hair from sleeping,

“So you are trying to win my heart?” he asked me and my eyes widened when I realized that I did kind of say that.

“No, the saying isn’t about winning your heart. It just means that if you want a man to love you then you cook for him,” I said and he smiled even more.

Gosh, did I just say love?

f**k Jade, come up with a solution.

“So, if I want to win your heart, what do I need to do?” he asked me and I just shrugged.

“Nothing,” I answered and he seemed confused.

“Why? Is your heart taken by another?” he asked me and I nodded.

I watched how his eyes began to darken as he looked at me.

“Who?” he asked me and I leaned in and whispered.

“You,” I said and before I could move away he had already engulfed me in a hug.

I wrapped my hands around me and I realized that I did something stupid.
