Sacrificed To My Sister's Mate novel Chapter 58

Chapter 58: Dance

Jade’s pov

“Do you even know how to cook?” Dante asked me and I nodded.

“I can make an omelette,” I said and he smiled at this.

I was busy trying to cut the vegetable when he suddenly took the knife away from me.

Claim

“I will cut these up, you do eggs and everything else,” he said and I nodded as I continued with my

work.

I looked at him and how he was cutting everything like a professional.

“You know how to cook?” I asked him and he nodded.

“Nick was a picky eater as a child. I couldn’t ask the staff to do extra work just to accommodate

his needs,” he answered and I nodded.

It makes sense, there are over 30 people who live at the pack house.

The first floor is always so busy and so is the second floor.

Plus the mansion is big, I think it has about 20 bedrooms if I am not wrong.

And from what I saw, almost every bedroom has its own bathroom.

I finished up, cooking, and then put the finishing touches. I looked at Dante as he took his first bite.

“How is it?” I asked him and he looked at me.

“Salty, very salty,” he said and I frowned at this.

I added the right amount of salt.

I looked at Dante who was still eating despite complaining about the salt.

“Stop eating that then,” I said taking away his plate.

Did he lie to me?

If it was salty then why does he keep on eating?

I took a bite and I didn’t even swallow it.

“How can you even eat this?” I asked him and he just shrugged like it’s not a big deal.

He took the plate and then continued eating yet again like it wasn’t salty.

“Stop eating that,” I said and he just smiled but didn’t stop.

“I thought you were trying to win my heart. So how will you do that if I don’t eat this food?” he

asked me and I frowned.

Claim

“I am trying to win your heart, not give you heart disease,” I retorted and watched how he grinned.

“I mean I am not trying to kill you. Excessive amounts of salt can cause high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, and kidney disease,” I rambled on trying to distract him.

“I am merely trying to save your heart,” I added.

think that distracted him from the fact that I admitted I wanted to win his heart?

“So, you don’t want me to die?” he asked me as he walked towards me.

“Yes,” I answered which made him grin even more.

“You do realize that if I die then you will be free?” he asked me and my eyes

“You are right,” I said and quickly reached out for the salt.

“Come on, eat all of this,” I added and he chuckled at this.

“Now you want me dead,” he said with a raised eyebrow.

I looked at him, this man is breathtaking.

His black hair was a mess and some of it covered his face.

widened.

His gray eyes were looking at me with so much emotion and gosh those dimples.

It should be a crime to have dimples like that.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” he asked me and I was confused.

“Like what?” I asked him and he just shrugged as if he couldn’t find the word.

“Nothing, but tell the truth. You can’t cook to save your life, right?” he asked me and I nodded. “I never learned how. I was always so busy that I hardly had a life,” I answered him. “That makes sense, but you left, and that too for years. Didn’t you learn then?” he asked me.

“I was busy, I was studying and also working part-time,” I answered him.

“You were working?” he asked me and I nodded.

“I couldn’t exactly ask my family. I had left home and I wanted to stand on my own. I had a scholarship, I just needed the money to pay for certain luxuries,” I explained and he nodded.

“Well, I found something that Jade can’t do. My lady, I believe I have discovered your weakness,” he

said and I chuckled at his voice.

“And I know yours as well your royal douchebag,” I retorted in the same voice.

“I do not possess any weakness, I am flawless,” he said and I rolled my eyes at this.

“You can’t dance, I remember at the club you were just standing there like a stone,” I reminded him.

“I can dance,” he said sounding offended and I just nodded.

“Okay, you can dance,” I said and he smiled and then took out his phone.

He then placed it on the counter and then played a song.

He bowed a little and then held out his hand.

“Can I have this dance?” he asked me.

I held his hand and we started moving to the rhythm of the music.

“So what do you think about my dance skills?” he asked me as he was spinning me around.

“They could use some work,” I answered and he pulled me closer to him.

“Do you have any more secrets that I need to know?” he suddenly asked me and I nodded.

“I do have secrets, but I can’t tell you,” I answered and he looked at me and sighed.

“Just promise me, that if you are hurt or are hurting then you will always tell me,” he said and I

smiled.

“That I can do,” I answered and I rested my head on his chest.

The music suddenly changed and I found myself laughing at the music choice.

“Rock huh?” I asked him and he nodded.

“It helps me channel out my rage,” he explained.

“Do you want to rock out?” he asked me and I nodded.

I couldn’t stop myself from laughing as he started dancing around.

I joined him as well, dancing to rock music isn’t hard.

You just need to violently shake your head and act like you are playing a guitar.

Dante suddenly stopped dancing and stood there frozen.

I turned to look at what made him stop and everyone was just standing there.

They were all just staring at us and I looked at Dante.

“Is everything okay?” Dante asked with a straight face.

“Yes, the loud music and the loud footsteps woke everyone up,” his Mom answered.

“Huh, it did,” Dante said and then he looked at me.

“Yes, brother I didn’t know you can dance,” Nick mocked him.

“Shut up, brother wasn’t dancing. Brother doesn’t dance,” Alec said with a smile on his face.

“Yes, Alpha Dante doesn’t do such things,” Piers added. “Then how do you explain what we just

saw?” Addison asked.

“He probably had something in his hair and was trying to shake it off,” Felix answered.

They all had amused smiles as if they liked making fun of him.

“Enough,” Dante said and then sighed.

“I was dancing, is that wrong? Is it a crime? Where is it written that an Alpha can’t dance?” he

asked and then stormed off.

Everyone just burst out laughing at his little outburst.

My eyes landed on Sasha and Vanessa, everyone was laughing except them.

And my sister had that look in her eyes again.

When she noticed that I was looking at her she smiled.

What was that look?

What does that look mean?
