Jade’s pov

“Stephen is here?” I heard Mrs Odell say and she seemed somewhat panicked.

“This is bad, why is he here all of a sudden?” Nick asked and I sat down.

“What is wrong? This Stephen, who is he?” Vanessa asked.

“Our cousin,” Alec answered with a frown.

I am not really interested in anything they have to say.

My eyes are on the empty chairs where Dante and Sasha should be.

Why am I anxious?

They are mates, they will obviously spend time together.

“Are you okay?” Addison asked me and I nodded.

Suddenly Dante came walking down the stairs and behind him was Sasha.

The two of them look really angry, probably because they were interrupted.

No Jade, why am I feeling like this?

What is this heavy feeling in my heart?

“Should we let him into the pack?” Felix asked.

“What could he possibly want? He has been gone for 12 years now,” Mrs Odell said with a frown.

“Who is this guy? And why is he making you so angry?” Addison asked them.

“Our Cousin, he wanted to be Alpha and caused a lot of havoc when he couldn’t be,” Nick

answered.

“And now he is back, what could he want?” Alec asked and I looked at him.

I am sure that he was probably 4 years old when this person left. So what does he have against

him?

Alpha Dante sat down and his eyes landed on me.

He was just staring at me as if he was trying to figure something out.

“Hello my dear family,” a guy said as he walked in with a massive smile on his face.

His long black hair which was tied into a man bun and a smile that I didn’t like at all.

He is obviously related to them because of the same black hair.

However, he doesn’t have their gray eyes.

He bowed his head at Dante but it was obviously just for show.

You could see the disrespect in his eyes as he was doing so.

His eyes then suddenly landed on me and I watched how he smirked.

“Jade Bennett, you are as beautiful as the rumours say,” he said as he walked towards me.

He took my hand and kissed it while staring into my eyes.

Is he trying to be charming?

I actually feel a little nauseated by his behavior.

I feel uncomfortable, I was about to withdraw my hands when I caught something.

He took his time in making his lips finger on my hand.

you must be?” I asked him and smiled when he didn’t let go of my hand.

He was still holding it which was giving me the time to check out what I needed.

Does he have to ruin everything?

“Sorry about that, I forgot that you now have two women in your life. Not only that but sisters as well,” Stephen said with a smile.

I could tell he was trouble and not only that but I sensed dark magic in his body.

He is here for some reason but what and why?

“Why are you here?” Mrs Odell asked him and he smiled as he looked at her.

He seemed really amused while looking at her.

“Amazing Aunt, when I left here you were completely broken and couldn’t even get out of bed. Now

look at you,” he said and Mrs Odell rolled her eyes.

“The last time you were here, you tried taking away my son’s right,” Mrs Odell pointed out.

“Oh come on, I am an Odell just like my cousin. Had your mate and husband,” Stephen said but

then stopped talking and smirked.

“Sorry, I meant had your ex-husband and mate showed his cowardice early then my father would have been Alpha. Then your son’s title would have been mine,” he added.

He then just started laughing and threw his head back.

“I am kidding Aunt, my years away made me realize something important. Which is family, and besides uncle and his two daughters you are my only other family,” he said with a smile.

Everyone just looked at him as if trying to read and understand him.

“I mean if you do put aside the second family my other uncle had. I mean their father by the way,

you by any chance met your half-siblings?” he asked looking at Dante.

“Will you just shut up? Who the hell do you think you are?” Sasha asked him.

“Oh sister-in-law, no I shouldn’t call you that. He is married to your younger sister and you are just

the mate. But what should I call you then?” he asked her.

She couldn’t find the words, so instead she just looked at Dante.

This man, you could see how he was subtly trying to get to Dante and everyone.

Hell, judging from the looks on their faces it seems like he has managed to get to them.

I reached under the table and held Dante’s hand as he was about to talk.

He looked at me and I just smiled at this.

“Well, I am glad that you have finally realized the importance of family,” Dante said.

“You are right, family is so important. But also should have limits to it, don’t you think so Stephen?”

I asked him.

I watched how he looked at me and then smiled.

“Limits, when it comes to your family. Do those limits end at f*****g your brother-in-law?” he asked

me and I chuckled.

“No, they end when you realize that some things aren’t meant to be and some are,” I answered him

and he just stared at me.

“What are you trying to say?” he asked me and I just shrugged.

“I am only trying to address what you don’t have the courage to,” I answered and watched how he

frowned.

“And what is that?” he asked me and I smiled as gently as possible.

“That maybe the apple doesn’t fall that far from the tree,” I explained and he looked at Dante and

then at me.

“It’s not that I don’t have the courage to say it. Your husband turned out to be a lot like his father.

He married two women just like his father and who knows? At this rate, by the time he is his

father’s age then he might fill up this Mansion with women,” he retorted.

“Well, I guess you are right about the apple not falling far from the tree,” I said and watched how everyone looked at me confused.

“I mean look at you, your father couldn’t be Alpha. You couldn’t be Alpha, I guess just like him. You

will die as an unknown nobody,” I explained and watched how his eyes widened as he stared at me.

This anger is exactly what I wanted from him. I wanted him to be so angry that it could help me

narrow down the dark magic inside.

Dark magic is a lot like fire, and negative emotions are like air or wind

When the air is strong, the fire spreads fast and tends to be even stronger.

His negative emotions are helping me sense the dark magic inside him even more.

Now I am certain, I can say with absolute certainty that he is the one.

The dark magic that is inside him, is the same dark magic that was in Ben.

He is the one who sent that evil spirit to possess Ben and then spy on Alpha Dante.

But if he is here, then it means that he must have found something.

He came here now and that too all arrogant and cocky.

What the hell is he planning?

What informantion does he have that has him so confident?
