Chapter 70: Destiny
Jade’s pov
“Of course,” I answered Stephen who smiled and led the way.
“I want to give a tour of the pack, I am sure that no one has even thought of it,” he said and I
nodded.
“That would be really nice, ” I answered and he looked at me.
“You are really beautiful, has anyone ever told you that?” he asked me and I shook
my
head.
“Not really,” I answered but left out the fact that almost everyone I meet tells me that.
But I honestly don’t see it, I don’t have any defining features.
I am just ordinary, with brown hair and brown eyes that don’t stand out.
In this world, one needs to be special to be beautiful.
You either have to be very skinny or have curves in the right place.
At times the longer legs you have the better or your eyes need to be a different colour.
Maybe hazel eyes, blue eyes or green eyes.
People tend to admire those features and people that have them are considered beautiful.
I don’t have curves in all the right places and my legs aren’t long.
I am just me and I honestly like it.
But it does make me wonder why people constantly call me beautiful.
“So where are you taking me?” I asked him and he just shrugged.
“My favourite spot in the entire pack,” he answered and I followed him.
He suddenly stopped and from where I was standing it looked like the pack training grounds.
Everyone seemed busy training and fighting.
“This is your favourite place?” I asked him and he nodded.
“Yes, I used to spend my time here training Dante,” he said with a smile.
I looked at him and I could see the hate in his eyes as he said this.
Even the dark magic inside him got stronger because of these negative emotions he was feeling.

But his facial expression was one of sorrow.
I looked at him intrigued because how is he doing this?
How is he feeling something else but expressing another?
“Can I ask you something?” I asked him and he nodded.
“Go ahead, I am an open book,” he answered and I smiled.

“You said that you want to care and protect the pack. You can do that as Dante’s cousin. If you love
the pack so much, then stay by his side and work with him,” I said and watched how he frowned.
“No, I can never do that. He took away everything from me, being Alpha is my destiny,” he retorted
and I smiled.
“You said that it’s your destiny, what if it is also Dante’s destiny?” I asked him.
“I know that it is not, I know that for certain,” Stephen answered
.I guess Dante was even more right than he thought.
Flashback:
“Mom, you can’t do this to me. Dad tell her she can’t do this to me,” Sasha said.
“Yes, what is happening with you Samantha? Jade is only 10 years old. And Sasha is our firstborn,”
Dad pointed out.
“Yes, so?” Mom asked like all those details didn’t matter to her.
“You named her the future Coven leader, why not me?” Sasha asked.
“Why should I name you?” Mom asked and Sasha was speechless for a second.
“Because I love and care about this coven. I want to protect everyone in it,” Sasha answered and
Mom nodded.
“No one is stopping you from doing that. Your father loves and cares for this coven and he protects everyone in it but isn’t the leader. Your Aunt and Uncle do the same,” Mom pointed out.
“Yes, but it’s not their destiny to be one. It is my destiny to be the Coven leader,” Sasha retorted.
“And why is that? Because you are the firstborn?” Mom asked her.
Sasha nodded and I watched how Mom looked at Jay.
“Years ago, women couldn’t be leaders. Only sons, times change and so do the rules,” Mom added.
I watched how she sighed and then walked towards Sasha.

“You are still a very special child. You don’t need a title to be special. You don’t need a title to make
something of yourself. You can now control your own destiny,” Mom explained.
She then patted Sasha on the head and then looked at me and gestured that I follow her.
“Just ask,” she said as we were walking and I stopped.
“Why did you choose me?” I asked her and she sighed.
“Fine, I will tell you the truth. People can say one thing and mean another. That is exactly what your
sister is doing,” she answered and I looked at her confused.
I watched as she brushed away her blond hair and her green eyes landed on me.
“Your sister made you do spells for her,” she said and I nodded.
“She did it so she could get the title of coven leader. Wasn’t that cheating?” she asked me and I
nodded.
“But she was willing to use you for her own goals. If she can’t even protect her younger sister. How
can she protect an entire coven?” Mom asked me.
I couldn’t find the answer but she walked towards me and smiled.
“There is more to being a leader than the glory and power that comes with it. They protecting in the dark, and it’s something you have shown that you can do,” she said.
She then held out her hand and I took it and she led me to the training grounds.
I looked around and everyone was working hard and trying to learn spells.
“Being a leader is no one’s destiny,” she added and I looked at her.
Is that really true?
Is being a leader something that just happens?
“Or maybe it is someone’s destiny. Just that the people that think that it’s their destiny was not,”
she suddenly added.
“But how do you know?” I asked her and she just shrugged.
“You know if you become a leader despite people saying that it’s not in your destiny. That’s how you know,” she answered.
End of flashback
Huh, so this is what Mom meant. I guess they are a lot alike, but was she right?
