Chapter 77: Cold
Jade’s pov
I got into the car and looked at Dante who was quiet.
He just started driving away without saying a word.
I looked at him, did I do something wrong?
J
“I waited for you during lunch. You didn’t show up, I thought we were going to take a nap together,”
I said.
“I was busy,” he answered coldly and I looked at him confused.
“I am sorry, but did I do something wrong?” I asked him and he sighed.
“No, you did nothing wrong,” he answered and his reply was cold.
I sighed at this and looked outside and looked outside.
What the hell happened?
Both of us were looking forward to this and he was suddenly cold.
I must say that my mood was ruined by Sasha but I did push it aside.
And now the person I will be spending an entire weekend with is giving me the cold shoulder.
I have never been good with confrontations so I just sat there and looked outside.
The car suddenly stopped in front of a massive hotel and he got out.
I followed and watched as he took our bags out.
His mother said that the cabin was about three hours away.
I know for certain that he has been driving for about two hours.
I looked at the clock and it wasn’t that late and he could still drive.
“If you are tired then I can drive,” I suggested and he shook his head.
“We will be spending our weekend here,” he said and I looked at the hotel.
What is wrong with the cabin?
We got inside and went straight to reception.
“I would like to book two rooms,” Dante said and I looked at him confused.

Did he just say two rooms?
The lady looked around and then frowned before looking at us.

“I am sorry sir, but only the honeymoon suite is available. A gentle and his kids just booked the last. few rooms we had,” the lady said.
“Okay, but please let me know the moment a room is available. I don’t care how small it is,” Dante
added.
I watched as he did everything else and then they gave him the card to the room.
Well, I guess he changed his mind about this weekend.
I found myself smiling at this, what else was I expecting?
Nothing good ever happens to me.
I was really looking forward to this weekend and suddenly I am getting the cold shoulder.
We got into the elevator and then got to the honeymoon suite and Dante sat down.
“I am going to take a shower. Then we can go and have dinner,” he said and then walked off.
I heard as the bathroom door was being locked from the inside.
What the f**k did I do that he is so angry?
I took my phone and wallet and went downstairs to have dinner alone.
I love food, but having it with someone who is giving me the cold shoulder would ruin my mood.
“Eating alone is not a good look for a beautiful young lady,” An older man suddenly said.
I turned to look at him, I was in awe of him for a second.
“What’s wrong?” he asked me and I shrugged.
“You look like my husband,” I said and he chuckled at this.
“Really? Then he must be a handsome young man,” he retorted and I nodded.
“Where is he? He is obviously ill-mannered if he is letting you come and eat alone,” he said and I
sighed.
“I am getting the cold shoulder for some reason,” I answered and he looked at me.
“So you came here alone? Shouldn’t you be trying to understand why he is giving you the cold
shoulder?” he asked me.

“Well, I am not good at rejections,” I answered and he chuckled at this.
“A little cold shoulder and you feel rejected?” he asked me and I nodded.
“What else could it be? He was okay and then suddenly cold. He even requested a separate room,”
I informed him.
“Huh, that must suck then,” the old man said and I chuckled at this.
“You have no idea,” I retorted and he suddenly got up.
“I will be back,” he said and then walked off.
“And why the f**k did you come here alone? Didn’t I say we will have dinner together?” Dante
suddenly appeared.
“And why the f**k are you talking to me like that?” I asked him.
He was about to say something and then suddenly stopped and looked around.
His eyes landed on a glass that was there.
“Who were you with?” he asked me.
“Some old man, he actually looks like you,” I informed him and then froze when I realized.
“Dante,” the old man’s voice suddenly said.
“Son,” he added but Dante raised his hand at his words.
“Don’t ever say my name and don’t ever call me that again. I am not your son,” Dante said and then
looked at me.
“Let’s go, we will have our dinner in our room,” he said taking my hand.
“So he is the husband who is giving you the cold shoulder?” his father asked me.
“You talked to this man about me?” Dante asked fuming.
“I didn’t know who he was,” I answered gently.
“Dante, please calm down and let us talk. I missed you,” the old man said.
“Jade let’s get out of here,” Dante said firmly and I looked at his father.
“It was nice meeting sir,” I said and as I was about to get up I heard a loud voice calling out.
“Daddy,” a little boy about 10 or 11 years and he jumped into the old man’s arms.
“Hey kiddo,” Dante’s father said and then looked at Dante.

“Dante, please meet my son,” but before the old man could finish talking Dante was dragging me to the elevator.
I watched as Dante’s father looked at his son longingly.
We got to the room and Dante just sat there without saying a word.
He was already in a bad mood and this just made things worse.
What should I do now?
“He seemed nice,” I said after some time and Dante looked up at me.
I instantly regretted saying those words.
“I am no longer hungry, I will sleep on the couch,” he said as he closed his eyes.
He was already on the couch and I was sitting on the bed.
Well, Addison is absolutely going to sob when she realizes that all her efforts went down the drain.
This was supposed to be the best night of her life and also mine.
I also laid down on the bed and closed my eyes but I couldn’t sleep.
I got up because I couldn’t do this at all.
“Where are you going?” Dante asked without opening his eyes.
“To another hotel, somewhere far away from you,” I answered as I took my bag.
“It was only a matter of time,” he retorted and I looked at him confused.
“What? What the f**k did you just say?” I asked him.
“That this is what you have wanted all along, to leave,” answered and I scoffed at this.
“You have been sour ever since we left home. I am even scared to breathe now, you wanted a
separate room when we came here. I am only giving you what you want,” I said and turned to leave.
“If you open that door, leave and never come back,” he said and I paused.
Did his voice just break right now?
I turned around to look at him and he had tears in his eyes.
“Dante, is everything okay?” I asked him but he didn’t answer.
I dropped my bags, his father was right.
I didn’t try to find out why he was so angry, I just thought he was rejecting me.

I walked towards him and stopped when I got on the couch.
He closed his eyes to avoid eye contact with me.
“Is it because of what happened downstairs?” I asked him.
“But you were angry way before that. Did I do something wrong?” I asked him.
I put both my hands on his cheeks and he moved them away.
“Why should I tell you anything? You are going to leave eventually, aren’t you?” he asked me.
Why is everyone talking about me leaving?
Do they want to get rid of
that badly?
“What are you talking about?” I asked him honestly confused.
“I heard you this afternoon talking to Sasha. I heard you talking about how you are going to leave.
No wonder you and that man got along, you are both the same,” he added and pushed me away.
“Why are you acting like this? We both knew that this was a deal,” I tried to reason.
He scoffed at this and then nodded.
“So the deal is that you get pregnant and then leave,” he said and then pulled me towards him.
He crashed his lips to mine roughly.
“Then let’s get you pregnant so you can have your freedom,” he said.
I felt his hands digging into my skin where he was holding me.
“Dante, you are hurting me,” I said and he suddenly let go.
I watched how his eyes widened with shock and he tried to touch me but I moved away.
Maybe I shouldn’t wait until I get pregnant and have a child.
Maybe I should just leave now, I didn’t sign up for any of this.
Why is he suddenly acting like this?
