Chapter 97 Proteser
Chapter 97: Promised
Jade’s pov
Since he was badly injured I started looking at his wounds right then and there
When he was stable they moved him to the clinic and I stayed back to take care of our guests
“Dante, have the people patrolling the pack border to look around. And if they find someone, tell
them not to attack” I said and he looked at me confused.
But I watched as he did what I said and I looked at the blood in my hands
Turns out that guy was Olivia’s brother, but how did he come to be in such a state?
“May I ask why you are having someone patrol the border? The person that did this is probably already gone by now, Lewis said and I shook my head.
“My gut tells me that he is here and is very close by I said and they all looked at me confused.
“What makes you so sure? Mrs Odell asked me and I sighed.
“The pack barrier, I did it myself. At this close proximity I am alerted even when a bird flies by so a whole person went through without triggering it, I answered:
“Or maybe you are not as good as you think you are,” Sasha suddenly commented out of the blue.
I looked at her and she had a smile on her face.
“He is coming for you, I wonder who it could be,” she said and chuckled.
“Shut
up,
Jade, speak up, what is wrong? I have never seen you this scared, Addison said and I
looked around the room.
No one could understand the gravity of this situation at all
“You are all werewolves, but somehow you only managed to sense him once he had entered the
pack mansion. The pack patrol didn’t pick up any scent of blood,” I pointed out.
“Yes, it was almost as if he appeared out of nowhere,” Dante said.”
This means that someone was doing all this. They masked his scent and helped him through the pack territory without being noticed. All so they could have the element of surprise,” I explained.
“Someone who was capable of doing that, can easily sneak in themselves and kill us in our sleep,”
Addison added.
That’s when I noticed how everyone in the room suddenly realized the situation we were in.

“Wait, is there someone who is capable of doing that?” Nick asked and I nodded.
“It looks that way,” I answered and then sighed.
I looked around the room, I put everyone in danger.
This person is after me, is it that same dark shadow again?
Is it back?
And that felt more like a warning if I didn’t know any better.

“I will go and take care of that man. And once he regains consciousness and he tells me what he
saw,” I paused and then looked at Dante.
“I will leave,” I said and watched how he looked at me confused.
“What are you talking about? You promised me that you would stay here forever, that you would
never leave me,” he said and I sighed.
“Things were different, I didn’t have a maniac coming after me. One person from your pack has
already gotten hurt, if I stay he could hurt more,” I pointed out.
“I don’t care, you are not going anywhere,” Dante retorted.
“Yes, please don’t go. We will fight this threat together, you are part of this pack as well. The same
way we would fight tooth and nail to protect Dante, we will do the same for you,” Felix said.
I looked around the room.
If this person is as powerful as I think, then I won’t stand a chance alone.
“Have security around the guy all day, make sure that he is always protected,” I commanded Felix
who nodded and walked off.
“And you, have them patrol the weak spots of the barrier. I will give you all the coordinates and
increase patrol security. Make sure that if someone with powers they can’t under comes, then run,”
I informed him.
“But why increase security if you are going to ask them to run?” Alpha Lewis.
“Large numbers mean that they would lose interest. Powerful people hate fighting the weak, especially if they are large in numbers. So if they don’t attack him, then he won’t even look their
way,” I explained.
“You seem to know this person, have you ever met him?” Mrs Odell asked me and I shook my head.

But I know his shadow, he has followed me around for years,” I answered.
“I am sorry, but I need to get going,” I said and ran to the clinic.
When I got there I looked at the man who almost died because of me.
It’s weird, isn’t it?
I would die for other people but I don’t want other people to die for me.
If they don’t attack him, then he also won’t waste his time with them.
I am just hoping that he won’t attack them.
I looked at his file which was now already complied and I sighed.
There isn’t really anything I can do for now.
I am just hoping that somehow his wolf will bring him back from the brink of death.
He could have just killed him and finished him off but that’s not what he wants.
He wants to play mind games, those suit him the best.
I remember the first time I met him, the power that was radiating off him.
I saw my own mother and grandmother who are powerful witches cower at his power.
His power terrified me as well, it felt like the air around us was thick with power.
The power was greater than anything I have ever felt or seen.
There is nothing I can do for him for now.
I walked back home and although it was almost midnight everyone was still there.
Well, except my sister of course but I am glad that she isn’t there.
“This man? Will he come to finish off my brother?” Olivia asked me and I shook my head.
“He just wanted to send a message. I am sorry he used your brother for that,” I said and she
sighed.
“It’s the world we live in. My brother and I have gotten hurt a lot of times, it’s not the first time he is
on the brink of death,” she said and I looked at her.
That was very wise of her, someone would have blamed me for this.
“You seem to know this man very well. Who is he? And why does he think that you belong to him?” Mrs Odell asked me and I sighed.

“I know him and I can guess what has made him so angry. I don’t know his name but I have seen
his face about 8 years ago. He is someone with unimaginable power, someone who scares even
my mother,” I explained.
“Wait, but your mother doesn’t fear anything or anyone. She once said that the ancestors can
shove their demands up their asses,” Addison pointed out.
That is true, my mother isn’t even scared of the ancestors but was terrified of this man.
“What could have made him so angry?” Felix asked me and I looked at Dante.
“The fact that I got married,” I answered him and I sighed.
“This man, he is the man I was promised to, I was 16 years old at the time,” I explained.
“Promised to?” Nick asked and I nodded.
“He is my fiance,” I added.
