Dante’s pov

“Yes, I remember your uncle mentioned something about that,” Mom said.

“He was supposed to come and marry me when I turned 18 but he never did,” Jade said and I

looked at her.

She is hiding something, what else could she be hiding?

“What’s wrong?” I asked her and she just sighed.

“He is different from the enemies you might have faced. All I could sense when he came to our home back then was nothing but darkness,” she said and she seemed really worried.

“We should go to bed, it’s been a long day already,” Mom said and then smiled at our guests.

I even forgot that they were here because of everything that had happened.

They organized a room for the Alpha and the people he came with.

I looked at Jade who was busy looking looking at the documents.

“What is wrong?” I asked her and she sighed.

“I am busy looking at that guy’s charts but I can’t seem to understand what is happening,” she

answered.

I walked towards her and started massaging her shoulders and she tried to relax.

“It’s been a long day, you should try and get some sleep,” I said and she shook her head.

“I am not sleepy,” she said and I looked her side of the bed and noticed the book she had been

reading.

“Are you done reading that?” I asked her and she shook her head.

I took the book and opened the page she was in.

“Lay down for a few seconds and I will read you the book,” I said and she nodded.

She put away the files and did as I asked her.

I started reading the book and a few minutes later she was snoring lightly.

I pushed away a few strands of hair from her face.

I pulled her closer to me and she buried her head on my chest.

I also drifted off to sleep and when I woke up the next morning because I heard a commotion happening outside.

I looked at Jade who was still sound asleep and then got off the bed.

“Yes, put that there,” I heard Sasha order people around.

“What is happening here?” I asked her and she smiled as she looked at me.

“Tonight is my event remember? Tonight is the day I will officially be announced as the Luna of this pack,” she said with a smile.

Oh yes, we still had to do that.

“Can’t you postpone it? We have a real crisis on our hands,” I reminded her and she looked at me.

“I don’t care, you love Jade and I am okay with it. But you promised me a position as your Luna, and all I am doing is taking what is mine,” she answered and then walked off.

I walked back to my bedroom and found Jade awake.

“Your sister is planning an event, she doesn’t want to cancel it, I informed her and she nodded.

“It is okay,” she answered and I looked at her.

“You don’t look like you are okay with it,” I said and she looked at me confused.

“I told you

before didn’t I?” I asked her.

“I know what you look like when you are disappointed and confused and angry,” I reminded her.

“I know that you smile when you are bored,” I said.

“It doesn’t matter if I am okay with it or not, but at the end of the day we both know that she deserves this,” she explained and I nodded.

I can easily order her not to have this party but that would make her even more angry.

I know that it isn’t something that Jade would want.

“You can take the day off today, go shopping, and just relax for the day,” I said to Jade who nodded.

“Yes, but I will go to the clinic first to check out on the guy,” she said and I looked at her.

“You are worried about him but you don’t even know his name. His name is Terrence,” I informed

her and she nodded.

“It’s not your fault you know, he didn’t get hurt because of you,” I said and she looked at me.

“It doesn’t feel that way,” she answered and then sighed.

We got ready for the day and the moment I got to the office I called Mrs Bennett.

“We need to talk, are you coming to today’s event?” I asked her.

“Yes, I wouldn’t miss it for anything. I will be there,” she answered and I was about to say

something else but the door opened.

“You will need to wear this for tonight,” she said as she put a tux on the couch.

Her eyes roamed around my office and I watched how she smiled bitterly.

“You removed our wedding photo,” she pointed out and I nodded.

“I am sorry, but every time I looked at it I felt guilty,” I answered and she scoffed.

“I don’t care about your guilt. But tonight you will not embarrass me at all, you will spend the whole night by my side,” she said.

I knew what she was saying and I also remembered Jade’s words.

She does deserve it, we did break her heart in some way.

“Okay,” I said and she looked at me confused but then nodded and walked off.

The night came by very fast since I was also trying to find information on some guy whose name I

don’t know.

Maybe her mother knows the name but this isn’t something one can talk about over the phone.

The night came by fast and before I knew it I was wearing the tux.

Jade is getting ready in Addison’s room for the night.

I walked to Sasha’s room and found her ready for the night.

She was wearing a long white satin dress, “how do I look?” she asked me with a smile.

“Good,” I answered and watched how her smile dropped.

She then wrapped her hand around mine and we walked out.

As we walked down the stairs all eyes were on us and I was busy looking around.

My eyes landed on Jade, she was wearing an emerald green dress that hugged her body perfectly.

Her hair was in a slick back look and she winked at me.

I smiled at this, gosh my wife is beautiful.

We got down and the event started.

I caught a scent that I knew very well but also couldn’t understand how it was even possible.

“The Alpha King is here,” a man announced and I watched as everyone made space.

I watched as the Alpha King walked in and he was headed towards one person and that was Jade.

What is the Alpha King doing here?

And why is he heading directly towards Jade?
