Chapter 165 Where Is She?

Cyan stepped forward quickly. Prince Theodore, I took the liberty of inviting Ms. Campbell to stay for a

meal.

Theodore’s eyes lit up slightly. Well? Where is she?

Cyan looked thoroughly embarrassed. Ms. Campbellturned the invitation down.

Theodore fell silent.

Feeling Theodore’s dark, heavy gaze settle on him, Cyan hung his head even lower in apprehension.

Theodore said in a cold, flat tone, What could possibly be more important than eating a proper meal?

Cyan caught the unspoken meaning behind his words at oncewhat matter could ever take priority over dining with Theodore himself?

Curiosity got the better of him, and he lifted his head. Shall I follow after her to see what she’s up to?

Theodore asked sharply, Have you finished all your own duties?

Cyan bowed his head hastily. I spoke out of turn.

With that, he stepped back quietly and withdrew.

Margaret hurried all the way back to the Prime Minister’s Estate. She took Lisa and Julie out with her, then pulled out a stack of property and shop deeds.

These were all gifts of gratitude from Theodore.

She remembered many of the shops among his gifts had never been claimed or managed by her,

Today she finally had some free time, so he planned to sort through all her assetsand find a proper place to settle Lisa and Julie, too.

Lost in her thoughts, the three soon arrived at a fabric trading shop. The steward in charge greeted her with immediate deference the moment she walked in.

After learning how the shop was run, Margaret quickly found the whole affair more trouble than it was worth.

The monthly profits were small, yet the accounts were endless. All of Theodore’s former staff had already left, meaning she would need to hire new people to take over right away.

She had no reliable people at her disposal for the task, nor the time to come every month to oversee the business. After a moment’s thought, Margaret decided to sell the shop outright.

Margaret had plenty of business ideas of her own, but none involved running small stores that earned only modest profits and required constant personal oversight.

She also had plans to leave Breston someday anyway.

Margaret sold the shop directly to the steward, took the large sum of payment, and left, as he wore a bright, delighted smile.

She visited two more small shops afterward. She asked Lisa and Julie if they wanted to stay and work there, making a living for themselves.

But the two admitted they knew nothing about trade and business. Margaret ended up selling those ordinary small shops as well.

By midday, the three finished their meal and finally headed to a pair of medicine shops.

Theodore had given her two such shops. Each only had two young medicine shop apprentices and no resident healerthey operated purely as medicine dispensaries.

She had no intention of selling these two.

Medicine and healing were her greatest expertise, and medicine shops like these would always prove useful to her.

The two shops stood close to one another and were modest in size. Margaret made a quick decision and had both renamed at once.

Both medicine shops would bear the name Healing Peace Hall.

Workers replaced the wooden signboards on the very same day.

While the new signs were being hung, Margaret made an unexpected discoverythe property right next to one of the medicine shops also belonged to her.

It was a grand, luxurious feast hall.

She checked the property deed carefully; it had been listed as an inn on the paperwork, yet the building was clearly a highend banquet hall.

She’d originally planned to sell both inns she owned and put the gold away in her private vault.

But staring up at the towering feast hall before her, Margaret finally chose to keep it.

After a full day of running errands, she kept only the grand feast hall and the two medicine shops.

Everything else she owned was sold off completely.

I have no plans to stay in Breston longterm. There’s no point holding onto countless shops I can never take with me once I leave.

By the time she finished all her arrangements and sat down to eat, night had already fallen.

The three sat tiredly in a quiet corner of the feast hall.
