She Quit Her Family and Found Herself novel Chapter 282

Holding Justin's phone, Mrs. Jameson stared at Hulda's photo over and over again. This was the first time she had ever seen a picture of a girl on her son's phone.

"What's her name?" she asked.

Justin's eyes softened. "Hulda Atherton."

"Hulda Atherton..." Mrs. Jameson repeated, the joy in her eyes impossible to hide. "What a beautiful name. How old is she? What does her family do? What does she do for a living? How did you two meet? When are you going to bring her home to meet your father and me?"

Faced with his mother's barrage of questions, Justin simply took his phone back in silence. "We aren't even dating yet. Don't get so excited."

The smile faded from Mrs. Jameson's face. She followed him into the living room and sat down on the sofa. "What do you mean by that? Don't you like her?"

Justin nodded. "Yes, I like her. But she doesn't like me..."

In fact, she probably hated him...

Mrs. Jameson frowned and sighed. "Then you need to go after her! If you don't pursue her, how is she ever going to like you?"

Looking at the photo of Hulda on his screen, Justin muttered softly, "It's not the right time yet."

"What do you mean it's not the right time? You're not getting any younger! Herbert Jewell is already on his second marriage, how much longer are you going to wait?" She brought up Herbert's second marriage once again.

Seeing his mother acting so anxious, Justin couldn't help but wonder how she would react if she found out that Hulda was actually Herbert's ex-wife.

He looked away, slipped his phone into his pocket, and stood up. "Anyway, the timing isn't right."

...

In the days that followed, just like before her previous business trip to the mountains, Hulda worked overtime to wrap up her tasks at the institute and handed everything over properly.
