There had been only one carton left, and Finn had completely drained it!
Smacking his lips right in front of Miles's face, Finn glanced at the empty carton. "It's just milk. I drank it. This is my house now too, so I can drink whatever I want."
"That is my chocolate milk! I'm the only one who's allowed to drink it! Give it back!" Miles was furious. From his favorite robot to his special nightmare-curing milk, Finn was ruining everything that belonged to him.
"I already drank it, how am I supposed to give it back? Do you want me to throw it up for you?" Finn giggled, his smug amusement a stark contrast to the other boy's blinding rage.
The more Finn treated it like a joke, the angrier Miles became.
A second later, Miles hurled the empty carton squarely at Finn. "You're a thief! I'm going to smash you!"
Half-asleep, Callie heard the sound of children arguing in the kitchen.
She stepped out of the nanny's quarters to investigate, just in time to see Miles chuck the carton at Finn while screaming that he was going to smash him.
The stiff cardboard corner hit Finn perfectly square in the forehead.
Startled, Callie rushed over. "Oh, my little lords, what on earth are you two doing in the kitchen in the middle of the night?"
Right on cue, Finn let out a loud, pathetic wail.
Looking like a terrified, wounded little animal, he stared at the nanny through tear-filled eyes and sobbed quietly. "Callie, I was thirsty, so I came out to get a drink. I didn't know the chocolate milk belonged to Miles. But I already drank it, and now he's really mad and telling me to throw it back up..."
Miles's eyes were blazing red as he pointed at Finn. "He's lying!"
He knew Finn was twisting his words. He had only told him to give the milk back, not to throw it up.
