She Quit Her Family and Found Herself novel Chapter 303

"Mom, whose account is this?" Herbert asked. He already had a pretty good idea.

His mother didn't care about this kind of money, and there were only three people involved in the cash flow. If it wasn't his mother or Sylvie, that left only one person.

"If no one speaks up, I'm calling the police," Herbert said. His words were directed at Valery, but his eyes were locked on Cora.

Cora's face was ashen. At the threat of police involvement, a surge of panic and rage flooded her system. She decided to just blow it all up.

"It was me! Okay? It was me!" It didn't matter if she confessed or not; they were going to trace it back to her anyway.

"Herbert, I'm your own sister! Are you really going to have me arrested over a little bit of money?!" Cora's earlier panic was now completely overshadowed by fury.

As far as she was concerned, Sylvie was to blame for this entire mess.

She glared venomously at Sylvie. Now that her own neck was on the line, she didn't care about anything else.

Pointing an accusing finger, Cora screamed, "Sylvie, you ungrateful wretch! I've always been so good to you! I always took your side, and this is how you repay me?!"

A wave of anger washed over Sylvie, but she forced herself to swallow it in front of the Jewells.

"Cora, I didn't know you were the one transferring the money, and I didn't know Mr. Jewell set my allowance at $25,000. I was just telling the truth." Sylvie’s eyes welled with tears. "But you went too far. You were supposed to give me $25,000, and you only gave me $5,000. That's not even enough to pay the nanny!"
