Seeing Victor approaching, Cora panicked and tried to scramble away with her phone. But she tripped over the leg of her chair, dropping the device right at Victor's feet.
Victor picked it up, grabbed Cora's wrist, and forced her thumb onto the sensor, unlocking the banking app.
Valery was horrified seeing Victor use force on her daughter. She tried to intervene, but Herbert held her back. "Mom, sit down. Stay out of this."
"Herbert! Is this really necessary?! She's your sister!"
Herbert completely ignored his mother, his dark eyes locked on the unlocked phone Victor handed him.
Once Cora regained her balance, she saw Herbert scrolling through her phone. She lunged at him like a madwoman, trying to snatch it back.
"Victor, hold her," Herbert ordered coldly.
Victor stepped in, easily restraining Cora.
No matter how hard she thrashed and screamed, it was useless. Reduced to helpless rage, she shrieked, "Herbert! Give it back!"
Herbert started from the earliest available records, checking the exact dates Victor made the monthly deposits.
With every swipe, his heart sank, and his expression grew darker.
Finally, he slammed the phone onto the table and glared at his sister. "Cora, exactly how much of Hulda's money did you steal all those years?!"
Cora had stopped struggling. He had seen everything there was to see.
