She Turned Her Grief Into Wings novel Chapter 108

His tone was cryptic. "It bothers me. My stomach is in knots."

"Then why don't you go down there and snatch her back?" Solomon asked, his face a giant question mark.

"You're a shark in the boardroom, so why are you acting like such a wimp when it comes to your love life?"

He had no idea what Caden was thinking.

"Are you a turtle hiding in its shell?"

He obviously cared, yet he wasn't making a single move.

"You're not actually trying to save face, are you?" he probed.

Caden stayed silent, leaning back in his chair with dark, unreadable eyes.

Judging by his reaction, Solomon felt he had hit the nail on the head.

"Bro, are you seriously worried about your ego right now?"

Solomon let out a disbelieving laugh. "The enemy is storming the gates, and you're sitting here worrying about looking cool?"

"You're supposed to be in the mandatory waiting period for the divorce, and you're actually just sitting here 'waiting'?"

"Aren't you worried your wife is going to wait herself right into someone else's arms?"

God, Solomon felt like his entire worldview was being shattered.

It really was a case of the emperor not sweating while his advisors panicked.

He was practically jumping out of his skin, while the guy actually involved was sitting there as calm as a cucumber.

He had talked his throat raw, but the man had tuned him out completely.

He took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down.

He sneered, "Keep acting like you don't care. You're going to be crying a river soon enough."

"What are you guys talking about?"

A soft voice floated over from behind them. Solomon sat up straight, looking a little uncomfortable. "Oh, we were just talking about the great view."

"Really?"

Helga lifted her dress and sat down next to Caden. "Caden, what are you looking at?"

When Caden didn't answer, she followed his gaze and spotted a figure in black.

Shera.

The smile instantly froze on her face.

Why was it always her?

Hearing someone call her name, Helga quickly excused herself and Caden before walking away.

Once she was gone, Solomon let out a massive sigh of relief.

He scooted closer to Caden. "Don't say I didn't warn you, but Helga isn't as innocent as you think."

Down on the deck, Rhys clinked glasses with two businessmen and then made a beeline for Shera.

A gust of wind blew past, causing the woman to shiver, and Rhys immediately began taking off his suit jacket.

"Hey! He's giving her his jacket. He's giving her his jacket!"

Solomon started squawking in panic.

Caden stood up, staring intensely at the two of them.

Seeing him finally spring into action, Solomon quickly stood up and stepped aside.

He glanced down at his own feather-shaped lapel pin, then at Caden's gemstone brooch.

He swiftly swapped them. "Now you match her. At first glance, you two will look like a couple."

Caden ignored him, his face stormy as he headed straight for the stairs.

He marched directly toward the two figures below.
