She Turned Her Grief Into Wings novel Chapter 147

Shera gasped, covering her mouth in shock at Xenia's actions, clearly not expecting her friend to just kick a man into the room.

She quickly waved her hands at Xenia.

"This is Mr. Spencer. Quick, help him up."

Xenia glanced at Shera, then shot a subtle, evaluating look at the man on the floor.

"You know this guy?"

Shera replied, "He's Caden's friend."

Xenia, who was already in a bad mood, visibly sneered the moment she heard he was associated with Caden.

"A friend? I thought he was a burglar. Looking that creepy, eavesdropping by the door like that."

Her words were laced with venom.

Ever since Shera's accident, Xenia had been highly sensitive to everything around her.

She was on high alert against anyone acting even slightly suspicious.

Having absolutely no intention of helping him up, Xenia stepped right over him and set her belongings on the table.

Seeing Pearce standing nearby, her face instantly morphed into a bright smile as she nodded in greeting.

"Hello there, Dr. Pembroke."

The speed of her attitude shift was genuinely staggering.

Solomon glared at Xenia with deep resentment.

*Damn it! This woman is totally two-faced!*

He stood up, brushing himself off, and cast a glance at the room across the hall.

The door was firmly shut.

He gritted his teeth. *Caden Hayes, I am going to kill you.*

"Mr. Spencer, what are you..."

Solomon whipped his head back around, forcing a painfully awkward laugh for Shera.

"I, uh, I heard you were injured, so I specifically came by to check on you."

Shera nodded, gesturing for him to quickly take a seat.

Solomon didn't bother being polite and plopped down directly across from Pearce.

"So, Mrs. Hayes, how are you feeling now?"

He emphasized 'Mrs. Hayes' heavily, as if marking some sort of territorial claim.

Shera remained polite. "I'm fine, no major issues. Thank you for your concern, Mr. Spencer."

He then turned to Pearce, his tone feigning casual curiosity.
