She dragged out her response, "Oh—" The look she gave Rhys was filled with amusement. "Ms. Jewell's brother here looks awfully familiar."
Familiar?
Shera glanced between the two of them. She remembered Zena mentioning that Vivienne was also from Port City, thinking perhaps they had crossed paths before.
She said, "Then perhaps you've met somewhere."
"Hello, Mr. Jewell, I assume?" She looked at Shera, who gave a slight nod.
She extended a hand toward Rhys. "You look very familiar. I wonder if we've met."
Rhys stared at the hand in front of him, lowering his eyelids to conceal his displeasure.
He simply turned to Shera and said, "I have business at the company. I'm leaving."
From start to finish, he completely ignored Vivienne.
Watching his retreating figure, Shera offered an awkward explanation. "He isn't usually like this. He might genuinely have an emergency. Please don't take offense."
Vivienne chuckled, withdrawing her hand and lightly rubbing her fingers against her palm.
She murmured, "It's fine."
Her gaze was still locked on the corner he had disappeared around. Judging by how tense he looked just now, she knew he was furious.
She scoffed softly. So what?
Here, did he really dare to do anything to her?
Shera led Vivienne into the reception room, inquiring about her preferences and professionally introducing the boutique's designs.
Sure enough, within minutes, a message popped up on Vivienne's phone.
[You better have a good explanation for why you're here.]
She looked at the screen, a victorious smirk playing on her lips.
She glanced up at Shera across from her, then casually pressed the lock button, turning the screen black.
She just loved seeing him panic.
Yara nodded. "Just call me Yara."
She leaned in and whispered in Shera's ear, "New friend?"
"A new client. We just met today."
Hearing that, Yara enthusiastically linked arms with Vivienne. "So you're Shera's client too? A pleasure to meet you."
Throwing two highly extroverted people together saved Shera a lot of effort.
Thankfully, the two hit it off instantly, getting along much better than she had imagined.
The three of them went to a restaurant together.
Vivienne glanced over her shoulder, flashing a smile at the figure seated inside a car parked on the street.
Inside the car, Rhys sat with a dark expression, gripping the steering wheel so tightly it could crack.
He dialed a number, his voice dripping with ice. "Find out where Vivienne is staying. And... find out who else in the family knows she left Port City."
