Before the wedding, Luther demanded a prenuptial agreement.

Jolie was incredibly displeased.

The standoff lasted for a few days, but ultimately, Mina Lovell convinced her daughter. Once she was married into the Sanford family, would she really lack opportunities to assert herself? If she didn't sign, she wouldn't even get the ticket into high society.

Jolie relented.

When she pushed open the office door, several lawyers were waiting inside, along with Secretary Lori. Luther was standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, looking completely absentminded. He was probably missing his beloved ex-wife again.

Jolie was furious, but she swallowed it down and forced a smile.

Luther turned around, his gaze resting on her face.

After a long pause, he slowly walked over and sat on the sofa.

On the coffee table was the prenup prepared by the lawyers.

Luther spoke softly. "Take a look first, Jolie."

Jolie pursed her lips and read through it. It was essentially a standard billionaire's prenup. It explicitly stated she had no claim to Aegis Group shares, and perfectly shielded all of Luther's premarital assets. She couldn't help but feel annoyed. Was he really guarding against her this much?

Yet outwardly, she smiled and said, "I'm having dinner with Naomi Zeller tonight. Do you want to come?"

Naomi Zeller?

Luther felt it would only bring back painful memories, so he declined.

As Jolie signed the papers, she said breezily, "Actually, you don't need to avoid her. She and I are on pretty good terms now. We even went to a concert together last week. People change, Luther. Naomi is quite adaptable."

Luther leaned back against the sofa.

He listened to the woman ramble on.

He used to admire conversations with clever people like this.

But now, he found he preferred keeping things simple.

Brilliantly, he chose not to argue with her.

Otherwise, they wouldn't be able to live together in the future.

In the blink of an eye, the woman had signed the papers.

Luther handed the documents to the lawyers and instructed coolly, "Process this as quickly as possible."

Once it was handled, he could get the marriage license with Jolie.

This was the outcome he had waited five years for.

But he wasn't happy.

After Jolie and the lawyers left, Luther remained on the sofa, sitting quietly, lost in his own thoughts. Secretary Lori stepped forward and softly reminded him, "Mr. Sanford, the mid-level management meeting is about to start."

A look of deep confusion crossed Luther's face.
