Dizzy and disoriented, she was completely at his mercy for what felt like an eternity.
By the time the storm finally broke.
She jolted back to her senses, raising her hand and delivering a vicious slap across his face.
The crack of the slap was deafening in the dark.
Luther stared her down in the pitch blackness.
After a long silence, he reached out and flicked the light back on.
—The room was instantly flooded with harsh brilliance.
He scooped her up and carried her over to the vanity, forcing her to face the mirror while he plastered himself flush against her back. The man rested his face on her delicate shoulder. In the reflection, both of their faces were flushed with identical, feverish color—a deep, sensual flush that screamed they had just been thoroughly ravished.
Their bodies were tangled together.
A portrait of utter debauchery.
Joyce was too terrified to look, tightly squeezing her eyes shut.
Luther pressed his lips directly against her ear, whispering huskily, "Too scared to look? Or just unwilling to admit how much you enjoyed it? Joyce, is it really that hard to admit you feel something for me? We're both single; there's no moral boundary stopping us. I already told you Diana and Summer are non-issues. I'm done with Diana, and as for Summer, I'll terminate her employment contract. What are you so afraid of? Don't you want to be with me? Or do you just not like Annie and Landon? Just be their mother, won't you? They absolutely adore you."
The woman trembled softly in his grip.
Luther's seduction would be an irresistible trap for any woman.
A young billionaire, wielding immeasurable wealth, overflowing with pure sexual tension.
He was practically lethal poison to any young woman.
Joyce was just an ordinary woman.
She had fantasized about Prince Charming too.
And Luther was exactly what Prince Charming looked like in the flesh.
But Joyce ultimately withstood the temptation.
The haze in her eyes evaporated, replaced by cold resolve.
She locked eyes with the obscenely wealthy, dangerously sexy man in the mirror and stated firmly, "I'm sorry, Mr. Sanford, but I cannot be your girlfriend! Regardless of whether it's because of my face, I have no intention of using it to sell myself! Yes, you have astronomical wealth, and you are incredibly handsome. I'm sure women are throwing themselves at you in droves, which is exactly why you think you can act with such disgusting entitlement. But I'm going to say this one last time: I don't want to start anything with you. We are going to pretend what just happened never occurred. If you ever try this again, I will never set foot in this house again, and if I have to, I will resign from my school. I assume you wouldn't go through the immense trouble of destroying Damien's life just over a woman, would you?"
"And what if I would?"
The man's eyes darkened menacingly.
