She’s Done. He’s Breaking novel Chapter 35

**Chapter 35**

In the span of the next two days, Tristan was physically present in the house, yet Stella found herself barely catching a glimpse of him. It was almost as if he had become a ghost, drifting through the rooms without leaving a trace.

Perhaps it was for the best, she mused. With the impending arrival of her baby, her focus needed to be razor-sharp, directed solely towards the safe delivery of her child. The weight of motherhood loomed over her, a bittersweet reminder of the changes that lay ahead.

Ever since Eloise had delivered her stern admonition, Lily and Freya had transformed into diligent little helpers. Each morning, they took it upon themselves to prepare breakfast for Stella, their little hands busy in the kitchen, the clatter of dishes a comforting soundtrack to her mornings.

After her long hours at the university had concluded, Stella would make her way to the yoga studio, a sanctuary of peace amidst the chaos of her life. Layla, her steadfast friend, always arrived early, waiting with a warm smile and a carefully packed dinner, the aroma of home-cooked meals wafting through the air.

There was a particular road at Justicia University, renowned for its majestic maple trees, which had now donned their fiery autumn attire. The vibrant red leaves danced in the gentle breeze, reminiscent of a sunset that lingered just a bit too long. Students flocked to this picturesque path, snapping photos as if to capture the fleeting beauty of the season.

From her office in the administration building, Stella often gazed out at this enchanting scene. She found solace in the vibrant colors, a stark contrast to the turmoil swirling within her.

On that particular day, she was caught off guard when Kieran strolled into her office. His presence was unexpected, yet somehow comforting. “Could you read the newspaper to me again?” he asked, his eyes bright with anticipation.

Stella smiled softly, settling into the routine they had established. For the next forty minutes, she read aloud, her voice a soothing balm, while Kieran listened intently, his gaze fixed on her as if she were the most captivating story of all.

“Alright. That’s enough for now,” Kieran finally said, breaking the spell.

As she set the newspaper aside, a fleeting thought crossed her mind. She noticed Kieran’s thermos was empty and instinctively reached for it. “Let me refill this for you,” she offered, her voice light.

She moved towards the water dispenser, situated near the expansive floor-to-ceiling windows that framed the view of the outside world. As she filled the thermos, her eyes caught sight of two familiar figures below.

The students milling about couldn’t help but glance back, their expressions a mix of admiration and curiosity. There, amidst the throng, stood Tristan, his presence commanding. Despite the demands of his job, he had carved out a moment to be with someone he clearly cherished.

Stella’s heart sank, a wave of emotions crashing over her. She quickly averted her gaze, her youthful dreams of romance now tainted by the reality of her situation. It stung to witness the very love story she had once envisioned for herself unfolding before her eyes, but with someone else.

“What are you looking at?” Kieran inquired, his voice laced with genuine curiosity.
