Chapter 85

Tristan, the usually aloof man, cradled his daughter in his arms, his eyes filled with the

tenderness of a father.

The guests couldn’t help but whisper among themselves. Although Tristan didn’t love his wife, he genuinely doted on his daughter. The baby was simply too beautiful.

But… why wasn’t Tristan’s wife there? This question was on everyone’s mind, but no one dared to ask.

Tristan placed Faith on a soft, fluffy rug, surrounding her with items for the item-picking

ceremony.

Eloise had placed her treasured jewelry, while David, unwilling to be outdone, brought along a prized item of his own. Harry and Yelena added the gifts they had prepared in advance, hoping their beloved granddaughter would choose their respective items.

Faith lay in the center of the rug.

The adults around her held up their phones to take photos while encouraging her to pick one of the items, with Tristan carefully watching over her the entire time.

Faith looked at the items near her, holding them before letting them go. Everyone kept snapping photos, and the room was filled with constant laughter and happy voices.

Theodore held a good-luck charm in his hand and waved it at Faith. “Fifi, here, look at this.”

Faith stared at the lock-shaped charm and began to reach for it, wriggling her little body. Theodore set the charm on the rug, and Faith immediately grabbed it in her hand and giggled happily.

When it became clear she had chosen the charm, the adults all burst into laughter.

“Looks like Faith likes her uncle’s gift.”

“She didn’t even take her dad’s gift, but chose her uncle’s instead.”

“May our little Faith be blessed with all the good luck in the world.”

Theodore scooped Faith up, looked at the charm in her hand, and said softly, “Faith knows this present is from Mommy. Don’t you, Faith?”

The air froze at his words, and Angela stared exasperatedly at her son. Theodore, however, just ignored everyone’s reactions and continued saying softly to Faith, “Your mommy hopes you grow up safe, healthy, and blessed.”

Hearing his words, Faith giggled again.

Chapter 85

All the adults stayed silent, and Angela, who wanted to say something, found herself at a loss

for words.

In the end, Kieran, watching quietly from the couch, was the one who spoke up. “The child is a thoughtful one. She’ll definitely remember her mother in the future. Since she picked the good -luck charm, you should put it on her.

Hearing Kieran’s words, David and Eloise didn’t know how to respond. The others didn’t dare say anything either.

Tristan walked over to Theodore’s side and looked at Faith. “Give the charm to Daddy.”

Faith dropped it into Tristan’s hand, who hung it around her neck before taking her into his arms. Then, he turned to the relatives and said, “Let’s head to the hotel.”

Yelena added, “Yes, it’s getting late. We should head over first.”

Everyone stood up and left the villa, and a silence fell over the living room. Only Eloise, David, Harry, Yelena, and the immediate family were left.
