Chapter 20
“What did you say?” Brayden’s expression hardened at that moment.
The doctor stuttered as he told Brayden about what had happened that day.
He tried to explain himself. “It’s not that I didn’t want to tell you, Mr. Hart. Mrs. Hart had just bought our hospital, so I had no choice but to listen to her. I couldn’t tell you about it.”
The doctor was trying desperately to defend himself, but Brayden wasn’t listening.
He stumbled backward and finally realized something. Had Lindsay already been considering divorce at the time?
But why? Why had she suddenly become determined to leave him?
Brayden could no longer stand it. He arrived outside Lindsay’s hotel and waited for three days and nights.
Finally, he managed to catch Lindsay and her parents on the day they were leaving Hulania.
When Klaus and Francesca saw Brayden, they immediately called their bodyguards.
However, Lindsay stopped them. “I’ll talk to him”
She walked over and saw that his face was covered in stubble, and his eyes were bloodshot.
“Lindsay,” he said hoarsely when he saw her. “Can we please patch things up? I promise that I’ll treat you well from now on, and that I’ll be intimate with you every day. Please don’t leave me, alright?”
For the past few days, Brayden had been racking his brains about why Lindsay wanted to divorce him.
The only thing he could think of was the fact that he had been celibate for Scarlett.
They hadn’t slept together at all during their three-year marriage. It would have been hard for anyone to endure. That was why he had come all the way there to see Lindsay.
He wanted to tell her personally that he would treat her well in the future. He would also sleep with her.
He believed that if he expressed his sincerity, Lindsay would come back to him. After all, he knew better than anyone how much she loved him.
So he said, “I promise that from every day from now on, I’ll—”
“That’s enough!” Lindsay cut him off before he could finish. She looked at him with a look of extreme contempt on her face.
“Brayden, do you really think that I won’t be able to survive without a man?”

Brayden froze.
Lindsay continued icily, “I only wanted to be intimate with you in the past because I loved you at the time. However, I don’t love you anymore.”
She didn’t love him anymore. The words seemed to pierce Brayden’s heart like a knife.
His fingers tightened involuntarily as he blurted out, “That’s impossible! You can’t possibly not love me!”
They had been married for so many years. Brayden was well aware of how considerate Lindsay
was of him.
She would spend the entire night cooking his favorite stew for him. She would labor for several months to sew something as a birthday gift for him.
How could someone like that stop loving him?
