Chapter 25
Olivia lifted her tear-streaked face. Her eyes were filled with innocence and hurt. Without so much as a shift in her expression, she quickly redirected the blame to someone else.
“These people must be helping Liana curse me, right? I know Liana doesn’t like me, but I never wanted to ruin your relationship. Who is it? Who’s the one smearing me from behind the scenes?”
Logan looked at how her shoulders trembled as she cried, then lowered his eyes to look at the vile insults filling her screen. The fury inside him burned even more intensely.
Liana?
First, she called the police to have his men detained. Now, she was bribing media outlets to expose things online. Was she trying to stir up public opinion and paint him and Olivia as villains?
Liana was growing increasingly ruthless.
Logan thought she’d just been throwing a tantrum. He never imagined she would use such vicious, underhanded tactics to retaliate against him and hurt the one he wanted to protect the most.
“Don’t be scared.” Logan grabbed a few tissues and clumsily, but tenderly, wiped Olivia’s tears. “I’m here. No one will be able to hurt you.’
“Logie, I’m really scared!” Olivia clutched his arm, crying even harder.
She continued, “We should just leave. I’ll take Marcus and go. I don’t want to make things harder for you and Liana. She must be furious right now. Go bring her back. If she’s willing to return, then I’ll leave right away.”
Olivia skillfully put on a weak, considerate act to gain Logan’s pity. It caused Logan’s guilt and anger to twist together until he could hardly think straight.
He frowned, and his tone left no room for argument. “What kind of nonsense are you saying? Where can you even go? The Lynch family is dying to drag you out again. You barely managed to escape that hellhole with Marcus. How could I ever let you go back?”
For the first time, there was a firm certainty in his eyes. “You and Marcus are staying here. Neither of you is going anywhere.”
When Olivia had run to him crying earlier, she had confessed that the reason she’d rushed into Zayn’s arms three years ago was that she had been pregnant at the time. She also claimed the child was Logan’s.

But back then, Logan had just been kicked out of the Young family, penniless and struggling. She hadn’t wanted to burden Logan, so she’d accepted Zayn’s pursuit instead, hoping to give the baby a decent home.
That meant that Marcus was his biological son.
How could he ever allow Olivia and his son to suffer outside, where they would be lonely and defenseless?
His firm assurances gradually quieted Olivia’s sobs. However, she still trembled in his arms, quietly sobbing.
Logan’s heart ached for her, but the police were already watching him closely. He truly didn’t dare to make any moves now or send anyone after Liana.
All he could do was gently pat Olivia’s back to comfort her while promising in a low voice, ” Don’t worry. I’ll handle the online mess. Those people won’t actually dare to show up here. Just stay in the villa for the next few days. Don’t go anywhere. Things will be fine once this dies down.”
