Chapter 154 November Is Way Too Clingy

Chapter 154 November Is Way Too Clingy

None of the others showed up. Only Dizzy came out to meet Layla and November.

Seeing how November never left Layla’s side, no matter where she went, Dizzy felt a sense of relief. This kid must really love Layla, Dizzy thought to himself.

Dizzy took the storage button containing the Hellwing Starbeast’s skeleton and said apologetically, “Sorry about this, Layla This one’s on me. Next time I get my hands on some better materials, I’ll make sure to save them for you guys.”

“Dizzy, it’s really fine. Don’t worry about it,” Layla replied.

“Oh, and by the way, I sent you 20 million starcoins through your optical computer. I’m really sorry, but there’s nothing I can do. The one behind all this is Prince Atlas. We really can’t afford to cross him,” Dizzy added.

Layla’s expression got a little weird. She snuck a glance at November standing next to her. Well, with that mask on, there was no way to tell what he was thinking.

She quickly said to Dizzy, “Dizzy, you already paid me back for the Hellwing Starbeast skeleton, so you really don’t need to send me anything else.”

“No, no, this is the least I can do. You guys…” Suddenly, Dizzy remembered. Wasn’t your partner supposed to be rich? ‘So, why are they still playing the part of some backwater planet folks?’ he wondered.

But then he shrugged it off, thinking, ‘This kid’s got some great skills. For all I know, he’s probably hustling somewhere on the side. No wonder he’s got cash coming in.’

Noticing Dizzy was still busy, Layla and November handed over the goods, then turned and left Shadow Alley without looking back.

As they climbed into the aero-vehicle, November asked Layla where she wanted to go. Layla thought for a second and said,” Let’s head back to school. I’ve got a ton of classes this semester.”

“Alright, I’ll go back to school too,” November said.

Layla had gotten used to November sticking to her like glue. There wasn’t much she could do about it anyway.

After they got back to school, Layla and November grabbed lunch together in the cafeteria, then hung out in the library for a while.

When Layla had to go to her mech suit training, November had no choice but to head back to his own Trooper Division class. Layla was already used to him sticking to her all the time, so she just shrugged it off.

As for this student who always seemed to vanish and show up whenever he wanted, the teachers who didn’t know what was really going on had plenty to say about it.

But after the principal told them not to get involved, everyone just turned a blind eye and let it slide.

But the other students couldn’t stand him, especially the troopers from the Crown Squad, who had been in a foul mood

lately.

Romeo and Wayne walked into the classroom and spotted November, who hadn’t shown up in ages.

Romeo sneered, “Well, if it isn’t November. Long time no see. Do you even remember you’re supposed to be a student in Class S of the Trooper Division?”

November just ignored him.

Romeo was clearly annoyed and was about to mouth off again, but Wayne pulled him back, warning him to just let it go and not mess with November.

Wayne couldn’t even take November in a fight, so Romeo didn’t stand a chance.

Romeo grumbled under his breath, clearly pissed off. “I just can’t stand it. Why do we have to take orders from that woman? And did you hear? She’s about to become Prince Krish’s fifth wife.”

Romeo thought, ‘Prince Krish just married his fourth wife, and he doesn’t even have a crown princess yet. Now he’s already going for a fifth?

‘Of course, the future crown princess, or even Her Majesty herself, could end up being chosen from these wives.”

Wayne didn’t say a word. Honestly, he had no ci ha to even come all this drama.

Successfully unlocked!

Wayne thought, ‘I mean, it’s royal stuff. We can go fe nulator get too deep into it.’

Romeo let out a sigh. “When you put it like that, Prince Atlas, still single after all this time, suddenly doesn’t seem so bad.”

Wayne finally spoke up. “Watch your mouth.”

The Crown Squad might sound like a joke, but honestly, they’re all Team Prince Krish. They couldn’t say Krish wasn’t as good as Atlas, especially at that moment.

Even when it was just about who’s getting married, they still couldn’t say Krish didn’t measure up to Atlas.

Romeo muttered under his breath. Honestly, he didn’t care about anything else. He just plain hated Xanthe.

But then, out of nowhere, November was just staring him down, totally deadpan.

Romeo knew firsthand how much it hurt to get hit by November, so he instantly got all tense, like he was bracing for a boss fight. “What’s your problem? Never seen a real stud before?”

November just snorted, turned away, and crashed out on his desk like he couldn’t care less.

‘That idiot totally got it wrong, November thought to himself. ‘Me? Single? Please, I’ve got a wife. I’m married, thank you very much.’

At Imperial Academy, in the Mech Engineering Division’s hands-on lab, Layla and Shayla were working together to assemble the mechanical parts of an A-Tier mech suit.

Shayla didn’t want to pile on too much at once, so she just had Layla handle the mechanical side for now and decided to save the rest for later.

Layla didn’t say anything more. Honestly, she’d already mastered all this stuff years ago, but some of the tricks Weston taught her were a bit unorthodox.

So, she figured it wouldn’t hurt to go through the basics again with Shayla, just to make sure her foundation was rock solid. With just the two of them in the lab, Shayla suddenly asked, “Layla, you didn’t run into any problems at the military mech suit hangar that day, did you?”

After that whole incident, Layla sent Shayla a message to see how she was doing. Once they knew they were both okay, neither of them ever mentioned it again.

Layla knew that for Shayla, forgetting about it was the best outcome. But unexpectedly, Shayla was bringing it up again. Layla was quiet for a few seconds, then shook her head. “Any problems I ran into, I took care of. As for the future, let’s just deal with things as they come.”

Shayla was sharp as a tack, and she’d always had high hopes for Layla. Seeing her caught up in all this mess, Shayla couldn’ t help but worry about her.

Shayla suddenly dropped her voice, sounding worried. “Layla, maybe you should talk to your partner and tell him to stop getting mixed up with Prince Atlas.

“Atlas isn’t even interested in power, but Prince Krish has it out for him. If Prince Krish ever takes the throne, Atlas could be in real trouble, and you and your partner might end up in the crossfire, too.”

Layla was taken aback. “Shayla…”

Shayla cleared her throat and slipped back into her usual tone. “Layla, have you heard of the mech suit forum? There are some absolute legends in the mech world hanging out there.

“They post all kinds of build guides and tips. You should keep an eye on it. Some of those mech engineers are super generous and even offer to mentor people like us.”

Layla nodded. “Got it, Shayla.”

There were definitely people at school who pledged their loyalty to Krish. With the crown soon to be his, it was only natural that plenty of folks wanted to align themselves with him.

But in reality, Krish’s jealousy toward Atlas was no secret. Plenty of people were well aware of it.

Shayla was just a teacher. She wasn’t about to risk offending any of the princes. So, when that whole incident happened, she kept her head down and pretended not to notice anything.

But Layla was her student, whom she had high hopes for with a bright future.

Layla started out in the Wastelands-9 Orphan Core, got picked up by the Sullivan family, then tossed aside when they didn’t want her anymore. Now she was all talent, no backup.

Shayla couldn’t just stand by and watch her get hurt, so she tried to give her a quiet heads-up.

Layla was truly grateful to Shayla, but deep down, she found herself growing anxious about Atlas.

‘When Prince Krish finally claims the throne, is he really going to target Prince Atlas?’ Layla couldn’t help but worry.
