Chapter 153 Tampering With Atlas’s Mech Suit
Chapter 153 Tampering With Atlas’s Mech Suit
November’s eyes were stunning, that signature Klein blue shifting from bright to dim with every change in his mood,
Right at that moment, his gaze was filled with hope and warmth as he looked at Layla, his Klein blue eyes especially vivid. Layla instinctively nodded.
“Layla, you’re way too good to me.” November cheerfully snatched up both cups of juice and slurped them down in one go. Layla watched him and asked, “Are you that into juice?”
Even though November ate fast, his movements were still elegant. After all, he was royalty. Manners were just in his blood. He shook his head. “It’s not that I love juice. I just love anything you make or bring me, Layla.”
Layla cleared her throat. “Actually, Zee made the juice. I just brought it over for you.”
November immediately said, “But if you brought it, it’s definitely the best.”
Layla couldn’t help but laugh. ‘Well, if that’s what he wants to believe, so be it, she thought.
After listening to them chat for a while, Weston walked over, catching the sweet aroma in the air. “Layla, got anything tasty over here?”
Layla looked embarrassed.
November didn’t hesitate. “Zee, go grab another bowl of juice for Weston.”
“Yes,” Zee replied.
Weston glanced at the two empty bowls and instantly figured it out. He gave a sarcastic chuckle. “Wow, didn’t expect you to be so childish, His Highness, fighting me for food.”
November blinked innocently. “Weston, I don’t get what you mean.”
Layla facepalmed. Just then, Layla’s optical computer buzzed with a new message. It was from Dizzy.
Dizzy: [Layla, things are getting tricky. Colonel Roger still wants that Hellwing Starbeast skeleton. I think this has something to do with Prince Atlas.]
Dizzy: [We really can’t afford to cross him. So, Layla, I’m asking you a favor. If you haven’t used your Hellwing Starbeast skeleton yet, could you give it back to me?
[I’ll figure something out and get you some other great materials for your husband’s mech suit.]
Layla froze in place. ‘November already talked to Roger about this. There’s no way Roger would still be after that Hellwing Starbeast skeleton, she thought.
November saw Layla frown after checking her messages, and he immediately asked, “Layla, what’s up? Something urgent?”
Layla paused, then just told November what Dizzy had sent her.
November’s eyes darkened with irritation, and he spun around, ready to call Roger right away.
‘I already told him to leave the Hellwing Starbeast skeleton alone. Why is Róger still going off on his own?’ November thought.
Down in the basement, Weston was still savoring his juice when his optical computer buzzed with a message.
Melanie: [Weston, get back here. The org’s got something urgent. Meet me at Dizzy’s shop in Shadow Alley.]
Weston couldn’t help but roll his eyes. ‘Man, can’t I just finish my juice in peace?’ he thought.
“Layla, Melanie just called. Something urgent came up. I gotta run. Oh, and I think I’ve got a lead on that Hellwing Starbeast skeleton. I’ll tell you all about it when I’m back,” Weston said.
Layla nodded. “Alright, just let me know when you’re done, and I’ll come pick you up.”
Right at that moment, only three people could come and go as they pleased at Atlas’s place. Outsiders didn’t stand a chance of getting in.
After Weston left, November finished his call with Roger and said, “Layla, Roger says he’s not after the skeleton anymore. But maybe his earlier words spooked Dizzy, and now he just doesn’t want to get on anyone’s bad side.”
Layla nodded. “That’s what I was thinking, too.”
November said, “Just give the Hellwing Starbe Successfully unlocked! and its way back to us sooner or later, and it
won’t mess with Ares’s upgrade.”
Layla couldn’t let anyone know who November really was. After thinking it over, she figured this was probably the best

move.
She nodded. “Alright, I’ll let Dizzy know.”
Meanwhile, Weston had already hopped in an aero-vehicle and made his way to Dizzy’s shop in Shadow Alley.
Like he’d done a hundred times, he strolled in, headed straight for Dizzy’s office, pressed a button on the old shelf, and the hidden door slid open. He slipped inside.
Inside the secret room, Dizzy was puffing on a cigarette, Melanie was fiddling with a tech gun, and off to the side sat a man dressed head-to-toe in a black, black robe, black mask, his face completely hidden except for a pair of eyes.
Weston spotted the shadowy figure and greeted him, “Didn’t expect to see you here, Shadow.”
The man just gave a slight nod, not saying a word.
Weston plopped down next to Melanie and asked, “So, did one of your mech suits get busted and you need me to take a look?”
Melanie shook her head. “Nope, not a mech suit issue. Dizzy, you tell him.”
Dizzy took a drag from his cigarette and said, “Layla bought that Hellwing Starbeast skeleton from me a while back. I had no idea she wanted it for her husband’s mech suit. But then Colonel Roger sent someone over, saying he wants it back.”
‘Oh, so it’s about that. I’m already in the loop, Weston thought.
Then Dizzy looked up and said, “This is a great opportunity.”
Weston’s heart skipped a beat. He asked quickly, “What kind of opportunity? And what exactly do you need me to do?” Melanie spoke up, “November is still locked up in Alpha Prime Prison. We’re planning to use this chance to tweak Atlas’s mech suit, then break him out.
“So, Dizzy’s getting the Hellwing Starbeast skeleton back from Layla, and you’re the one who’ll add in something special.”
Weston almost dropped his cup.
Melanie turned to him, looking exasperated. “Why are you suddenly so nervous? All you have to do is make a few tweaks to the mech suit. We’re not dragging you into the actual prison break.”
Weston forced himself to stay calm. “Why not just bust him out directly? Why jump through all these hoops with Atlas instead?”
Dizzy replied, “It’s not like we want to mess with Atlas on purpose. If we go for the prison break, he’ll definitely get involved, and none of us can take him on.
“We were hoping to wait until he left Alpha Prime, but word is, he’s been glued to the main planet lately. He hasn’t left at all.”
Weston felt a headache coming on. ‘Prince Atlas is only sticking around Alpha Prime so he can spend more time with Layla, isn’t he?’ Weston thought.
‘Seriously, he’s even pretending to be in rut for Layla, and you guys are still scheming against him?’ Weston couldn’t help but feel exasperated.
Weston thought, ‘Man, this is getting way too convoluted.’
He sighed and said, “So, how much are you guys planning to mess with his mech suit? If you go too far, it’s not gonna fly.
“Prince Atlas has top-tier mech engineers around him, and his psychic force is off the charts. Plus, if you mess with it too much, Ares might pick up on it himself.”
“Yeah, we’re not trying to do anything drastic, just want to mess with him a little,” Dizzy replied.
Weston still felt all kinds of conflicted, but then he thought, ‘Thank goodness the Hellwing Starbeast skeleton is still with Layla.
‘If she doesn’t want to hand it over, there’s no way Dizzy and the others would force her. They’ll just have to come up with something else.’
Just then, Dizzy’s optical computer buzzed. He glanced at the message, then looked up with a grin. “Layla just sent the Hellwing Starbeast skeleton back.”
Weston didn’t know what to say.
