Surrogate for the Alpha Prince in a Coma novel Chapter 265

Chapter 265

Lillian’s POV

When the kids woke up again, Ophelia allowed me to use the kitchen and I made breakfast for everyone. After, it was time to leave.

Ophelia shook Grayson’s hand, and then mine. “I will send word if I hear anything about Lone Archer,” she told

Her handshake was strong, as was our new alliance. I didn’t think we could ever be friends, but we were no longer adversaries. She was someone I believed that I could depend on. I was pleased for more allies. I knew I would need all the help I could get in the days and battles to come.

Holding hands, Grayson, Alex, Madison, and me, said goodbye to Ophelia and slowly made our way through the forest toward the road. There, a car was waiting, something Grayson arranged.

The car took us the rest of the way to the palace, where, right out front of the building, we exited the car.

Prime Beta hurried down the stairs like he had been worriedly awaiting our arrival. His typically neutral expression was missing, instead his face was creased with concern. His movements were urgent.

“Odette is speaking in the throne room at this very moment, in front of the royal family, the council, and the court,” he said.

Grayson and I looked at each other.

I didn’t really want to drag the children into the throne room, but I didn’t trust them with anyone else at the moment, not even Prime Beta. And we couldn’t just let Odette spew whatever lies she was currently telling. For now, the kids would have to come with us.

We rushed to the throne room. The guards at the door seemed surprised to see us and the kids, but they didn’t say a word as they pushed open the doors for us. We moved inside.

At the moment we entered, Odette had only just finished whatever she had been saying, and the Queen was standing.

“Odette, we commend your efforts in attempting to rescue the children,” the Queen said. “You took a great risk upon yourself in going after Tutor Kyle. Though you were only able to bring back his body, and not the children themselves, we are proud of you for your bravery and your strength. You are the example every pack member should hope to live up to. For these actions, my husband, the King, and I have decided to issue a full pardon for your mistakes in the past.”

Odette placed her hand over her heart. “If only I had been able to save the children. But after I stopped Kyle, they were so frightened that they ran away.”
