It was Dora’s first time seeing Rank3 alien beast. It was clearly far more ferocious and much larger than the Rank2 alien beasts from before.

Elmer, defense,Clive barked in a low voice.

Elmer immediately shielded himself in front of Dora. The light brown glow around him intensified, and a faint halo of light enveloped him and Dora.

Almost at the same time, a dark figure shot out from a side shadow like lightning, lunging straight for the rocklizard’s neck.

It was Clive. At some point, he had condensed a dark shadow blade in his hand, faint lightning flickering along its edge, and he slashed down viciously.

The rocklizard’s reaction wasn’t slow either. It swung its head hard, slamming the sturdiest bone spikes on its back against the shadow blade. A sharp, earpiercing clang rang out, and sparks flew everywhere.

Clive’s shadow blade was deflected, but his figure twisted eerily. He had already slipped like a fish to the rocklizard’s flank. His other hand formed claws with five fingers, electricity crackling and snapping around the tips, and he raked down fiercely,

The rocklizard howled in pain and roared as it swung its thick tail in a sweeping strike. Clive leaped up lightly and narrowly dodged it. But his landing spot was covered by the corrosive mucus the rocklizard had spat out beforehand.

Watch out,Dora yelped in shock.

Just then, a white wind blade came from another angle, silent and soundless, slicing precisely into the relatively soft underbelly the rocklizard had exposed while swinging its tail. With a squelch, a wound that was not deep but painful enough appeared, and blood seeped out.

It was Lioren. He had circled around to the rocklizard’s blind spot at some point and seized the chance to launch a surprise attack. The rocklizard’s attention was instantly diverted, and it turned furiously toward Lioren’s direction.

Clive seized the moment. His shadow blade condensed once more, the lightning crackling around it even more intensely

this time.

His entire form seemed to transform into a streak of black lightning as he thrust straight at the vital spot on the side of the rocklizard’s neck, exposed as it turned its head.

Elmer wasn’t idle either. He watched for the moment the rocklizard was tied up by the two attacks ar had no attention to

spare.

He then burst out from his hiding spot. Instead of attacking, he hurled a hard piece of ore in his hand straight at the rocklizard’s eye.

The ore struck the rocklizard’s eye socket. It didn’t cause a serious injury, but it made the creature shut its eye and shake its head in pain, its attack grinding to a halt.

Clive’s shadow blade and Lioren’s several wind blades that followed close behind all landed on the wounds on the rocklizard’s neck and belly in quick succession.

The rocklizard let out a piercing howl. Its massive body swayed and crashed to the ground with a boom, kicking up a cloud of dust. The fight, from start to finish, had only lasted about three minutes.

The coordination wasn’t exactly flawless, and there were some close calls. But everyone had played their part at the critical

Cohen, completing their first real combat cooperation in hunting a large mutated beast.

Dora let out a breath of relief and stepped out from behind the rock. Clive had already landed, his breathing slightly uneven, but his eyes were stiff cold.

Lioren crouched on a rock not far away, licking his paws. His amber eyes studied the corpse on the ground.

Elmer jogged back, his face flushed with excitement and a touch of lingering fear. Dora, we took down a Level3 alien beast

Well done,” Dora praised them sincerely and walked over to inspect the spoils.

Clive shot a glance at Elmer and said coldly, Elmer, you shouldn’t have left Dora to help out. Protecting Dora’s safety is the top priority.”

With that, he turned and efficiently carved out a pigeoneggsized, yellowishbrown crystal core from the rocklizard.

Rank3 crystal core. Earth attribute. Suitable for reinforcing defense or earthtype supernatural abilities.Clive handed the crystal core to Dora.

Dora took it, then looked at the tough bone spikes and leather on the rocklizard’s body. These materials should fetch quite a few starcoins, too.”

Elmer’s excitement faded. He also felt he’d acted impulsively. He thought, I shouldn’t have left Dora to hide alone. What if another alien beast had shown up and attacked her? I was so careless. He stood there in silence, consumed with selfblame and regret.

A rustling sound came from Lioren’s direction. He was laboring with his paws, digging through a crushed section of rock wall next to the rocklizard’s corpse. He pulled out a small cluster of something that glowed faintly bluewhite, like crystal shards.

Optical Brain alerted: [Energy crystal cluster fragments are detected]

Fuzzball, I mean, kitten, good job,Dora said, her eyes brightening even more. This was an unexpected delight. Though they were only fragments, they were one of the building materials they needed.

Clive’s deep voice came through. Clean up the battlefield. It’s getting dark. Let’s find a suitable place to camp for the night and continue exploring tomorrow.”

Dora smiled as she stored the sorted materials into her Spatial Realm. She thought, Looks like coming to the intermediate training zone was the right call. Risks and opportunities always go hand in hand.

Night was about to fall. Under Clive’s lead, the group found a relatively flat clearing backed against a massive rock wall. Dora brought out the wilderness survival storage kit Clive had prepared.

Elmer and Clive quickly set up a large tent that could hold three to four people, with three sleeping bags and a small soft cushion placed inside.

Nearby, a modest campfire burned, using specially made energy fuel blocks from the training zone that were nearly smokeless and odorless. It gave off a steady orangered warmth, driving away some of the chill and illuminating the faces gathered around, each carrying a different expression.

The day’s haul far exceeded Dora’s expectations. They had not only smoothly found the materials for their plan.

They had also stumbled upon a small rock crevice where leymoss grew, a type of moss that was one of the key catalysts for making a basic water purification and circulation module.
