Chapter 272 The Crash Begins

The middle–aged woman, lured by the promise of massive returns, suppressed her doubts and hesitations.
Once inside the office, a staff member handed them a liability waiver to sign.
The woman frowned at the document, her displeasure evident. “If we sign this waiver, doesn’t that mean he won’t be held responsible for anything that happens?”
The staff member, oozing arrogance, replied, “You’re free not to sign it. Take your money and leave if you don’t want to.”
She then muttered loudly, ensuring they could hear, “Plenty of people in line behind you ready to sign.”
The couple exchanged annoyed glances but held their tongues. After all, no one liked to argue with potential profits.
Reluctantly, the man signed his name.
Once it was done, the staff member instructed, “Transfer the money to this account, and you can go.”
“No receipt or anything?” the woman asked, still skeptical.
“You’ll get one once the transfer is complete,” the staff member replied impatiently.
“Alright,” the woman conceded.
As the couple prepared to make the transfer, the staff member added nonchalantly, “We don’t take amounts under a million.”
“Yes, yes, we know.”
After the transfer, the man cautiously asked, “Would it be possible to meet Mr. Kennedy? I’d like to discuss some matters with him.”
The staff member, visibly annoyed, shot him down. “Mr. Kennedy is extremely busy. He doesn’t have time to meet with you. If there’s nothing else, you can leave now.”
As soon as they were out of earshot, the staff member muttered disdainfully, “Only invested a million, and they’re acting all high and mighty, asking questions and wanting to meet Mr. Kennedy. What a joke.”
Her grumbling was cut short when the office door opened, and Rowan stepped out.
The staff member immediately shifted her demeanor, adopting a flirtatious smile. She sauntered over, emphasizing her curves and deliberately leaning forward to show off her cleavage. “Mr. Kennedy,” she purred sweetly.
Rowan’s eyes briefly flicked to her exposed chest before returning to his usual composed demeanor. “How much capital do we have now?”
“We’ve reached eighty million,” she replied in a saccharine tone.
“Stop once we hit a hundred million.”
In just three days, they had amassed over eighty million. The reputation of the “Stock Whiz” was clearly paying off.
“Understood.”
Five days later, Rowan entered the stock market with a staggering amount of capital. Following Seraphina’s instructions, he poured all the money into two specific stocks.
Initially, both stocks rose steadily, albeit slowly, building Rowan’s confidence. After a week of consistent growth, the first minor dip occurred.
Rowan wasn’t concerned–fluctuations were normal. He continued living extravagantly, hopping between high–end hotels and private clubs, surrounded by a rotating cast of beautiful
women.
For Rowan, these days felt like the beginning of his rise to the top. What he didn’t realize was that this was the prelude to disaster.
By the afternoon of the third day, both stocks plummeted simultaneously, hitting their daily limit of losses. Rowan panicked and immediately called Seraphina.
“Seraphina! Both stocks crashed today. Should we pull out?” His voice was filled with anxiety.
On the other end, Seraphina’s tone was calm and steady. “No rush. I have a feeling they’ll rebound soon.”
“Really?” Rowan’s voice wavered.
“My instincts are strong,” she reassured him.
Trusting in Seraphina’s intuition, Rowan managed to suppress his growing unease–for now.
