Chapter 287 Andrew’s Refusal
An hour later, the reception room door opened as Andrew and several executives entered.
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, the two groups went straight to the point.
“Mr. Foster, take a look at the information about our company. We are the top in Pyrin. Recently, we acquired Harbor Zone No. 1. We have a promising—”
Andrew raised his hand to interrupt the other person and demanded, “The material.”
The other person handed over the documentation.
Andrew and two executives perused the material.
Tapping on the pile of papers, Andrew locked eyes with Oberon, his gaze sharp. “You don’t meet our investment criteria.”
Oberon’s group was stunned, not expecting him to reject them straightforwardly on the spot.
The manager of Whitewood Group was about to talk, but Oberon got ahead of him. “I have been told you’re decisive, Mr. Foster. Now I have met you. You indeed live up to your name. Even if we can’t be business partners, I would still like to maintain a good relationship with you. I haven’t thanked you for speaking up for Seraphina. I wonder if you can honor me by letting me treat you to a meal as a token of gratitude.”
He took the indirect approach by mentioning Seraphina to befriend Andrew.
Andrew’s subordinates looked at Oberon disdainfully.
He made a fatal mistake, which was trying to secure financing by name–dropping. Andrew detested people who used connections to achieve goals the most.
Those people had immediately gotten on his bad side.
“No need.” Andrew closed the file and ordered Joe to see the guests out.
Oberon and his companions were confused. We were having a friendly conversation until now. Why is he chasing us out?
After Oberon’s group left, Andrew dialed a number. “They’re gone.”
“Did you make a deal with them?” Seraphina asked.
He leaned against the floor–to–ceiling window, looking into the distance. “Even if you didn’t call, I wouldn’t finance them.”

Finishers
As she mentioned yesterday, Whitewood Group was all show and no substance.
The land would be worth the investment if Whitewood Group properly developed it.
However, he didn’t see its potential, so he refused.
On the other end of the phone, the girl breathed a sigh of relief at his answer. She chuckled heartily and promised, “You won’t regret today’s decision.”
He looked at the black screen, and a hint of a smile flashed across his face. She had something big planned.
Although he didn’t know what she was up to, his intuition told him she was targeting Whitewood Group.
Not long after FX Nova Group kicked Oberon out, the news spread rapidly in his circle. When he tried to find other investors, he discovered they would only agree on conditions unfair to his
company.
Lastly, he gave up looking for investors and instead mortgaged his real estate and company shares for a loan.
After that, the company started developing Harbor Zone No. 1.
One afternoon, Seraphina, Evelyn, and Dora were out shopping.
Suddenly, Dora tugged on Seraphina’s sleeve. “Seraphina, isn’t that your mother over there? Someone is pestering her.”
Seraphina followed her finger and saw Chloe in a tug–of–war with a middle–aged man across the street, apparently in conflict.
He was unkempt and haggard. Although they were far apart, Seraphina recognized him at first glance.
It was Rowan’s father and her so–called uncle, Augustus Kennedy.
Seraphina handed her drink to Evelyn. “You should go on without me.”
Then, she crossed the street and chased after the Kennedy siblings.
