Oberon nodded in agreement.

Just as the situation seemed to calm, he received congratulatory calls from several high–ranking executives, but it was clear they were mocking him despite their praises. Aidan’s failure to oversee a major project had become a joke in Pyrin, deeply disappointing Oberon.
With several ongoing investment projects, Whitewood Group needed financing to rapidly develop Harbor Zone No. 1–either through a bank loan or from Nova Group.
At dinner, Oberon turned to Seraphina. “Sera, take the day off tomorrow and come with me to Duskmire.”
“Why?” she asked.
“Andrew helped you last time. You should thank him. I’ll be there for business, and you can come with me.”
“I’ve already sent him a thank–you gift. It’s settled.”
Seraphina knew Oberon’s true intention; he wanted to use her connections to secure financing from Andrew. She refused to let that happen.
“Listen to me,” Oberon ordered coldly.
She stood up abruptly. “The college entrance exam is coming up. Don’t bother me with this.”
She left for Heartlake Island, making it hard for him to find her.
Once there, Seraphina took a special business card from her bag. It wasn’t made of gold or jade but had a warm, smooth texture. She never thought she’d make this call, but now it seemed unavoidable.
Meanwhile, Andrew was leaving a meeting when his rarely used personal phone vibrated. It was an unfamiliar number.

“Hello?” he answered.
“It’s me,” came the cold female voice.
He closed the office door, signaling those around him to be quiet. “Have you thought it over?” he asked.

“Tomorrow, Whitewood Group will approach you for financing. I hope you will refuse. I know this request may seem unreasonable to you, but please trust me, it’s for your own good.”
If he invests, once the Whitewood Family collapses, his money will undoubtedly be lost. I don’t want to pull him down, especially someone who has already helped me.
Andrew was even more surprised. If I remember correctly, she’s the heiress of the Whitewood Group. Normally, she’d be helping them. So, why is she asking me to refuse?
“May I know why?” he asked.
Although he admired her talents, that alone wasn’t enough for him to make an exception.
“The Whitewood Family is rotten from the inside. If you invest, you will lose everything,” Seraphina explained. “If you insist on investing, it will only make it a little harder for me, allowing Whitewood Group to survive a little longer.”
“I will consider it carefully,” Andrew answered, his mind racing.
After hanging up, he pressed an internal phone button. “Send me Whitewood Group’s files.”
The next day, Oberon arrived at FX Nova Group with several company executives.
Upon entering the office, he immediately felt the difference in the atmosphere of a large financial company.
“Mr. Whitewood, Mr. Foster is still in a meeting, but he will come over shortly to discuss things with you,” the receptionist said with a smile. She led them to the meeting room, where drinks and snacks were served.
Then, she left, closing the door behind her.
