Evie’s pov
“I fucking knew it!” She snarls, her angry eyes shooting arrows of fury on Ryan and I’s tangled form. My heart spikes with fear and I look at her and Ryan in panic. With a grunt of annoyance Ryan pulls out of me reluctantly and pushes off of me completely.
I quickly grab the sheets to hide my naked body. My wide eyes on my very feral looking sister. Ryan doesn’t pay her no mind, just picks up his scattered clothes.
“She meant nothing Kimberly,” Ryan states coldly as he throws his shirt over his head.
The words that left his mouth shattered me and my throat feels like it’s closing up. Those words came from the very same mouth that ravished mine just a few moments ago.
“I mistook her for you,” he said with a light shrug to the shoulder.” That’s all. Nothing more.” With every painful word that pushes out of his mouth, the more it feels like he nails my coffin shut. He was killing me. Deeply.
Kimberly doesn’t look pleased with his words, her eyes shedding tears more than mine. I don’t think I have any tears left to cry. I’ve shed them for so many years, tonight I could no longer. But instead my soul was shattering.
“How could you mistake this thing?” She yelled, her furious eyes glaring at me as she points an angry finger at me. I grip the sheet to my chest tighter, my painfully beating heart unable to take any more. “For me! We do not smell the same! We don’t look the same! Hell this is her room! Not mine!”
Ryan hasn’t looked at me once he got off me. Was I truly not even worth a glance? Were the words he
said to me all a lie?
“It was a mistake.” He replied dryly as he fixed his shirt, his back tensing. “I didn’t mark her. She’s not my
Luna.”
And that’s the words that shatter me beyond repair.
She’s not my Luna.
Of course you’re not Evie. He’d never choose you.
He’d never choose the runt of the pack.
I stared at the back of his head, my teary eyes burning the memory of how he is now towards me in my brain. This wasn’t the Ryan I knew for years. The one who cleaned my wounds, soothed me and promise me he’d always choose me.
This wasn’t Ryan.
And he wasn’t mine.

He was hers.
And I had to accept that.

Kimberly’s eyes pin me down with a look of disgust, her nose scrunching up as though she took a very awful stench. “She still reeks of you Ryan! What will my parents say? What will the Alpha and Luna say?! You’ve slept with someone who wasn’t your mate! And my sister nonetheless!”
Ryan visibly stiffens and my heart drops. I gripped the sheets harder until I swore my nails pierced through the material and made holes that would be able to stitch back unlike my heart.
“They won’t know,” he said without any emotion in his voice. “I will have the pack doctor make something for her to get rid of any essence of mine inside her.”
My heart squeezed hard. Who was this Ryan?
Why does he hurt me?
Why is he doing this to me?
He said he needed me tonight. Yet….he shatter me this way in front of her?
Was I really nothing to him?
Was our years of friendship nothing?
Kimberly lips curled into a sneer.” But what about me?! I will have to live with the knowing that you slept with her instead of me! You came inside her instead of me! Tonight was supposed to be my night!”
My eyes drop to stare at Ryan’s fists at his sides. He was clenching them hard as though he was holding himself back from doing something.
The tension in his body was scary.
“Mistakes happen.” He drawled out and started walking towards her without even sparing me a glance. ” You’ll get over it in due time. It’s not like it would happen again anyway.”
I bite the inside of my cheek. Just a few seconds ago he was inside me,
Kimberly glared at him before her lethal stare fall on me and in a flash she rushed over to me, her claws drawn, her eyes burning blue with the fury of her wolf. “I will claw your eyes out and feed them to you, you dirty bitch! How dare you sleep with my mate! I knew you were jealous of me! I knew it!”
Before she could reach me Ryan grasp her, hard. She seethes, snarling. “Let go of me! Do you think I’m stupid to think that you mistook her for me!? This was intentional! You always wanted to fuck this dirty-
“ENOUGH.” One single word, cold as it is and firm, causes Kimberly’s words to die on her tongue.” She’s nothing! She has never been! She has never been a threat to you. It was a mistake that will never happen again.”
My soul. The little I had left. Was no longer there. He has shattered me in ways no other has ever done
