The Big Sky Alpha novel Chapter 124

  1. Proposal

FREYA POV

Last night Cot made it pretty clear to me that he was feeling a little insecure about the fact that I have lived in the city my whole life. I laid in bed with him and tried to ease his mind, but I’m not so

sure it worked.

I’m assuming this uneasy feeling of my old city life has something to do with us going to Alpha Damon’s pack soon. His pack is in a town. Not quite a city, the population is maybe three thousand in the town his pack resides in. Nonetheless, I think this is where his anxiety or insecurity about this is coming from.

I admitted to him that I miss the music and the coffee shops sometimes, but I don’t miss the actual city life. I’ve grown to love this place. I know that I’ve felt like maybe that’s part of our mate bond. I was always told that the moon goddess doesn’t make mistakes, she pairs you with someone who compliments the true nature of you.

For me, I never would have thought that living this technologyfree life up in the middle of the woods would be what actually made me happy in life. However, I knew without a doubt that when I learned that Colt was my mate, he would never live a life in the city with me. At first that scared

  1. me.

The city was all I knew, the city was where I was born, where I grew up, where my family is. Now, the city is where toxicity is. Bad people, bad ways, addictions that control our entire mindset and way of living, laziness that back then seemed like relaxing but now seems more like being a complete slacker.

I’ve realized that even the food we ate was horrible. Granted, I sure loved deep fried greasy foods just as much as the next person, but I never really knew how it made my body feel until I went so

long without eating it.

I’m living a life that just feels more pure than any single day that I lived in Hope. I’m completely happy here. I wish I knew how to make him see that

Today, Colt and I are meeting with the bear people. Part of me really hopes they agree to live in the caves around us. Part of me doesn’t because I know that if they do then we’ll have to come clean about the fact that they were previously inhabited by vampires.

Vampires with family or friends or whatever that might come back because there’s only a handful of us that can be used as sacrifices to break the moon curse for them. You know, no biggie.

As we walked to where we agreed to meet, I realized something.

We don’t even know this woman’s name, Colt. How have we not gotten her name?I asked him.

He looked at me and laughed, I think that might have something to do with the fact that we’ve

been either handing over the dead or fighting.

Well, I’m going to get her name today.I stated.

When we got to our meeting place, there was no one else there. Colt, Ash, Levi, Brett and my father joined us. My father is not a part of this pack but given that he’s our pack’s primary ally Colt agreed that it would be good for him to come with us on this. After all, he’s not going to allow his daughter to be put in danger.

We sat there talking a little bit before we started hearing them arrive. We’re outside of our border where we have guards stationed, so we weren’t expecting to hear from anyone to let us know they were coming.

When they showed up, she came to us w the rest stood back. They shifted, and even though they’re completely naked none of them seemed to think anything of it or mind at all. So, we didn’t

either. Fact is, shifting ruins clothing. You have to make sure to take it off first and then you have to put clothes on after. Frankly, they have the right idea. Just not caring about the fact that they’re naked. Less of a hassle if you ask me.

Though I can surely say as a child without a wolf, I didn’t like the idea of looking at a grown a*s

man fully naked so I appreciated he clothes on them back then.

They all sat at the table with us.

Before we begin, I’d like to do introductions. I mean, if that’s okay with you. I just like being able to

address someone properly.” I stated.

She looked at me and smiled. I appreciate that. I am Sky. Leader of this sloth. Beside me are my

go to men.She motioned to her left, Bjorn. She motioned to her right, Koda.”

They all nodded and then looked to us.

Colt took over, I am Colt, Alpha of the Big Sky packHe placed his hand over my hand on the

table, This is my Luna, Freya. As he said the names of everyone standing behind us they stood forward then back again. My Beta Levi. My gammas Ash and Brett. Then my father in law, Alpha Harland of the Blood Moon pack.

The bears nodded to us all, Thank you for the introductions.Sky said.

She looked to her left and right and gained a nod from both Koda and Bjorn then turned to face us.

We have decided to accept your proposal. We do wish to stay in the caves around your territory. The only thing that we ask is that there will be no more death of my bears.” She said, loud and clear so everyone, including the bears standing back could hear.

Terms accepted, happily.Colt said.

Now, Alpha Colt. We do not know much about wolves. The only things we know are what we’ve gathered from our encounters with you. We all have made it a point to never associate with any other species. We stay away from humans and other than ourselves we didn’t know there were

other shifters out there.Sky said.

What do you wish to know?Colt asked.

Well, our people are lovers. Not fighters. Koda and Bjorn here are my husbands. Between us we have several cubs that we’ve tucked away from meeting anyone as of yet. We protect our young

over all else.She said.

Colt nodded and looked between the three of them I’ll admit, your lifestyle choices are slightly

different than ours. We mate with one for life.He answered.

Your choices are not something crazy to wolves in general though. It’s not uncommon for unmated wolves to have several different partners. I added in. I don’t think making them feel so

different from us is the way to go here.

She smiled at me, Though I assume you do not intermingle species? She asked.

No.Colt spoke up. Maybe a little offensive but looking at her reaction it doesn’t seem that she

minded.

We don’t either. So, we’re in agreement there. Do you have young in your pack if you mate for life?

She asked.

We do. We don’t allow them to go outside of our territory unsupervised though.Colt answered.

Sky stood and offered Colt her hand, Alpha Colt, I think we have a great agreement here. I’d like to allow my sloth the chance to hunt for a bit. The weather is turning, and hibernation is creeping up on us. I would like to meet with you again later tonight if that’s okay. She said.

Come for dinner.I said. Anything in particular that you enjoy eating?I asked.

Meat and fruit really.She said.

Sounds like a plan. See you for supper.” I said back
