The Billion-Dollar Divorce (Ian and Chloe) novel Chapter 311

Chapter 311

Chapter 311

The next day, in Kingsford.

At ten in the morning, in the CEO’s Office of the Hamilton Group.

An executive stopped Mitchell. “Mr. Garrison, could you please take this document in for me?”

Mitchell hesitated for a moment before taking the document.

Ever since lan got back from Tecnovia, he seemed like a completely different person.

His mood, which used to be steady, could blow up out of nowhere. Just this morning, he fired two people during the meeting.

The whole CEO’s Office was on edge.

Mitchell walked into the office, bracing himself. “Mr. Hamilton, Ms. Sherman is here to see you, but she didn’t make an appointment.”

Ian’s hands hovered over the keyboard.

After a brief hesitation, he nodded. “Let her in.”

Ian skillfully photoshopped a wedding photo and blew it up on his computer screen.

More than ten minutes later, Andrea walked into Ian’s office, her heart pounding with excitement, only to find the room empty.

“Ms. Sherman, please wait a moment. Mr. Hamilton is in a meeting,” Mitchell said.

With that, Mitchell turned and left the office.

Andrea explored every corner of lan’s office, unable to hide the excitement in her eyes.

She thought, ‘Guess being broke really does kill my imagination.

‘Who knows lan’s office would be this huge and fancy?

‘Not only are there different sections, but there’s even a private suite for relaxing.

‘I couldn’t just call it quits now!’

‘Once Ian walked in, I would blame everything on my family members and claim they’d threatened and pressured me into it.

‘I have to get him to promise to keep my secret, not breathe a word to anyone about me having a kid.

‘If Ian goes soft on me, maybe I would still have a shot with him.’

Almost without thinking, Andrea found herself standing in front of lan’s desk.

Her eyes were glued to the wedding photo on the screen, staring at the woman’s face with a venomous intensity.

Andrea thought, ‘So this is Ian’s fiancée.

“That bitch who plotted to lure me back here and nearly got me thrown in jail!

‘Once I deal with everything here, I’m not letting her off the hook!’

Andrea glanced around, then secretly took a picture of the wedding photo and saved it to her phone.

Once she was done, the more she stared at the photo on Ian’s computer, the more her resentment simmered.

She walked over to the desk and closed the photo with a click of the mouse.

A few minutes later, Mitchell came back in. “Ms. Sherman, Mr. Hamilton had to step out for something urgent. Maybe you can come back another day.”

Andrea could only leave for now, frustrated.

Mitchell rushed into the conference room. “Mr. Hamilton, Ms. Sherman has left.”

Ian stood ramrod straight in his suit, gazing out the floor-to-ceiling windows, not bothering to turn around when Mitchell came in.

Ian ordered, “From now until tomorrow evening, I don’t want anyone setting foot in my office.”

Mitchell slipped out of the conference room, making sure to lock the office door right away.

Mitchell thought, ‘Of all the people to cross, Ms. Sherman just had to pick our boss.

‘She must have a death wish.’

At noon, Andrea returned to Violet’s beauty salon.

When Violet walked in, Andrea asked cautiously, “Violet, is Clint all settled in?”

Violet locked the door behind her and asked, “When you brought Clint back, did anyone besides your mom, Xander, and Melody know about it?”

Andrea shook her head. “No, just them. No one else knows.”

She’d planned to use Clint to guilt-trip Ian into giving her another chance.

But before she could even say anything, Ian totally blew up at her.

Good thing she kept her mouth shut.

Violet let out a sigh of relief and reassured her, “I’ll talk to them. I’ll make sure they keep their mouths shut

“Soon, I’ll find someone to wipe your record clean. If you want to marry into a wealthy family, you have to look single and childless. Just act like you never had that kid.”

Andrea’s eyes filled with grateful tears. “Don’t worry. Honestly, I wish that little bastard would just drop dead!”

Now that Ian had cut her off, having that kid around was just dead weight.

She’d been stressing over how to ditch the kid, but thank God for Violet, who would save her a ton of trouble.

As long as nobody in Kingsford found out Andrea had been married and had a kid overseas, she could get a fresh start and rewrite her story.

Violet gently wiped Andrea’s tears. “Hey, don’t cry. Tomorrow, I’ll take you with me to a fancy charity gala thrown by the big shots. You’ll get a taste of how high society lives.”

*****

At eight o’clock in the evening, the Yang family’s charity gala was underway.

Mia stood at the entrance, dressed in a champagne-gold sequined gown with a deep V-neck and a daring high slit, a long black coat draped over her shoulders. Her arm was linked with Patrick’s as they waited at the door.

Patrick shot a look at the deep V on Mia’s dress, then pulled her coat closed around her. “You know my cousin’s got a thing for you, and you still dare to dress like this?”

Mia yanked the coat off with a grin. “With you here, what do I have to be afraid of?”

Patrick fussed with the coat, trying to get Mia to wear it, but she thought it looked awful and pulled it right off again.

They stood at the entrance, one trying to put the coat on, the other yanking it off.

Mia’s temper boiled over. “Patrick! Lewis!”

Patrick met her fiery glare, made a face, and slung the coat over his arm. “Fine, don’t wear it. No need to yell at me.”

Mia slipped her arm back through Patrick’s, flashing him a playful grin. “That’s what you get for messing with

me!”
