The Billion-Dollar Divorce (Ian and Chloe) novel Chapter 337

Chapter 337

Chapter 337

Mia exposed Andrea’s dirty laundry in front of everyone, which instantly pissed off Astrid.

Astrid’s face turned cold as she scolded Mia, “Ms. Hamilton, mind your words!”

Patrick pulled Mia to his side. “Mrs. Astrid Jordan, please don’t get upset just yet.”

He looked at Astrid and explained, “Andrea’s aunt was Mrs. Quinn’s closest friend, but she went behind her back and stole her husband, becoming Mr. Quinn’s mistress.

“People say you can tell a lot about someone by the company they keep. Mia was just looking out for you.”

Patrick didn’t raise his voice, but everyone in the room could hear him clearly.

Andrea shot Patrick a venomous glare. “That bastard!’ she thought.

Hearing this kind of gossip from some gossipy aunties was one thing, but when it came straight from Patrick, the Lewis family’s heir, it hit totally differently.

The way everyone looked at Andrea now had a whole new vibe.

Andrea couldn’t defend herself, and suddenly, she broke down in tears, feeling utterly wronged.

She turned to Astrid and said, “Grandma, I’ve already explained everything to you. I’m not important enough for anyone to listen to me anyway.

“Since everyone misunderstands Aunt Violet and me, I shouldn’t stay here and keep making things difficult for you all. I’ll just pack up and go.”

Astrid took Andrea’s hand, her expression serious. “No matter what anyone else says, I only believe you.”

Andrea managed a smile through her tears.

Chloe glanced at Ian, her face giving nothing away.

She hadn’t expected Astrid to side with Andrea so openly.

Just then, Margaret stepped out of the crowd.

She gave Andrea a look full of disdain and then passed a folder straight to Hanna for everyone to see.

Margaret said to Hanna, “Mrs. Jordan, you might want to check this out in private.”

Margaret was assertive, but unlike Mia, she kept her cool.

Margaret said, “Mrs. Astrid Jordan, Ms. Hamilton was just trying to give you a heads-up so you don’t end up inviting trouble into your home.”

As soon as Margaret finished speaking, the crowd started buzzing with whispers.

Hanna skimmed through the folder Margaret handed her, and her face fell right away.

Chapter 337

She passed the folder to Gerardo.

As Gerardo read through the contents, his expression grew more and more grim.

Andrea saw their faces change and tried to get a look at the folder, but Hanna yanked it away before she could see anything.

Hanna turned to Astrid and said, “Acknowledging a family member is about the reputation of the whole Jordan family. It’s not just your decision. Let’s put today’s party on hold for now.”

Hanna hadn’t even finished speaking when Andrea’s face went pale with panic.

She’d gone to great lengths, even giving up a kidney, just to reach this moment. She couldn’t let all her efforts go to waste now.

Astrid barked, “Nobody’s perfect. Even if Andrea’s aunt did something wrong, it’s not fair to drag Andrea into it. Today’s reunion party will go on!”

As soon as Astrid finished, Hanna and Gerardo exchanged uneasy glances, both looking conflicted.

Just then, Eleanor finally showed up. “You are right, Mrs. Astrid Jordan, nobody’s perfect. But a bitch is still a bitch. She doesn’t even deserve to be called a person.”

When Andrea saw Eleanor, she instinctively moved closer to Astrid, trying to hide.

Andrea kept her head down, too nervous to meet anyone’s eyes.

“That old witch just wouldn’t leave us alone. Even when Aunt Violet and I tried to escape overseas.

‘Now that I’ve finally made it into the Jordan family, she’s still here to cause trouble,’ Andrea thought. ‘After today, she’ll be the first one I deal with.’

Eleanor’s words were so harsh that even Astrid couldn’t hide her embarrassment.

Astrid said, “Mrs. Quinn, if you’re here to congratulate us, the Jordan family welcomes you. But if you’re just here to stir up trouble, don’t blame me for being rude to you.”

Eleanor let out a cold laugh. “I’m just here to give you a friendly reminder, Mrs. Astrid Jordan. If you bring a little bitch like her into your family, don’t be surprised if your family will know no peace.”

Astrid’s face turned livid with anger. “Mrs. Quinn, watch your mouth.”

Eleanor walked right up to Andrea and, in front of everyone, sneered, “Little bitch, go tell that old bitch she can run, but she can’t hide for long.”

With that, Eleanor turned and strode out of the room without looking back.

Andrea was so humiliated that she couldn’t bring herself to look up for a long time.

Not only was Astrid embarrassed, but everyone in the Jordan family looked utterly mortified.

But Astrid refused to back down. “The reunion party goes on, like it or not!”

Not caring about all the weird looks she was getting, Andrea made a beeline for Antonio and Hazel.

Chapter 337

“Antonio, Hazel,” she called out.

Antonio slipped his arm around Hazel and took a step back. “Grandma, you, Mom, and Dad are the elders here. If you guys are cool with it, that’s all that matters to us. But we don’t need all this ceremony between

us.”

Antonio wasn’t naive.

If just one person said Andrea and Violet had issues with their character, maybe it was just someone being unfair.

But if two, three, or even more people were saying the same thing, then there’s gotta be some truth to it.

Andrea gritted her teeth, barely holding back her anger at Antonio’s words.

‘Is he really rejecting me like this, right in front of everyone?’ Andrea thought, her heart burning with humiliation.

Hazel instantly caught on to what Antonio was getting at.

Before Astrid could blow up, she let out a little “Oh!” and swooned right into Antonio’s arms.

Hazel leaned against Antonio, playing up her weakness as she pressed a hand to her forehead, whining, “Honey, I suddenly feel so dizzy.”

Jude rushed over. “Hazel, are you pregnant?”

Eric called out to Antonio, “Get Hazel back to her room and check her out.”

Sophie grabbed Hazel’s arm. “Are you thirsty? I’ll go get you some water.”

Antonio shot his siblings a look, then scooped Hazel up and raced upstairs.

The rest of the siblings took the chance to follow them up, slipping away in the commotion.

Hanna caught the signal and quickly shot Gerardo a meaningful look.

She then hurried after them, calling out, “Oh dear, my sweet Hazel, what’s going on with you?”

Gerardo was shocked.

People started whispering and talking all at once.

Andrea was frozen in place, her face burning with humiliation as angry tears spilled down her cheeks.
