Patrick and Mia headed out right after them.

On the way home, Chloe texted Eric, saying she wasn’t feeling well and decided to head home early.

Eric rushed downstairs and hurried to the door, but the butler told him Chloe had already left.

Jude followed him out, concern written all over his face. “Eric, what’s wrong?”

Eric shook his head. “It’s nothing.”

The whole thing had happened so suddenly, and he hadn’t even had a chance to make sure she was okay.

The two brothers headed back to Hazel’s room.

Hanna asked for an update.

Eric told her that Chloe wasn’t feeling well and had left early.

Hazel sat cross-legged on the bed and let out a soft hiss. “I asked her to stay tonight and give Astrid a checkup, and she agreed just fine. I didn’t notice anything wrong with her.”

Hanna sighed. “After all that drama at the party today, nobody would feel comfortable. Especially a young girl like her.”

Jude added, “Mom’s right. She probably just had enough and decided to leave.”

Eric’s mood sank.

Chloe might be young, but she was never the type to do things for no reason.

If she promised something, she’d stick to it, even if she was sick.

‘What’s really going on?’ Eric wondered.

Eric left the room and dialed Chloe’s number.

At that moment, Ian had just dropped Chloe off outside her building.

The luxury car rolled to a stop. Chloe shot Ian a look and then picked up Eric’s call without hesitation.

Eric’s voice came through, full of concern. “What happened? Are you feeling sick? Did you catch a cold?”

Chloe brushed it off, “It’s just a bit of a cold, so I headed home early. Don’t worry, Eric. I’m already back.”

Eric didn’t say much and just told her to take care before Chloe hung up.

Ian could tell Chloe was feeling down.

He reassured her, “Even if she joins the Jordan family, I won’t let her interfere with your life.”

He’d originally planned to use Eleanor’s family and the Goodwins to take down Andrea, Violet, and their backers, the Quinn family, all at once.

But halfway through, Andrea’s whole status got turned upside down.

Even so, Ian wasn’t going to show her any mercy.

Chloe unbuckled her seatbelt, didn’t say a word, and just got out of the car.

Ian lowered the window, watching as Chloe stepped into the elevator.

Ian turned his gaze away and quietly told Robert to drive off.

Just as the car rolled past the gates, Ian’s phone buzzed. He glanced at the number and picked up. “Spare me the details, just tell me what you found.”

On the other end, Mitchell spilled everything he’d dug up, no holding back.

When lan got back to Blue Cove Residences, Patrick and Mia were already waiting for him.

Mia hurried over the moment she saw him. “Ian, Andrea was backed into a corner and had to run off overseas. How did she suddenly become the Jordan family’s adopted daughter?”

Patrick looked at Ian, frowning. “Seriously, what’s going on with Andrea?”

Ian collapsed onto the couch, totally wiped out.

He told them, “Mrs. Quinn basically drove Andrea and Violet out of the country. Then Andrea gave Astrid a kidney.”

Patrick and Mia were so shocked that their eyes nearly popped out of their heads.

“No freaking way!” Patrick blurted out. “Did she really give up a kidney just for money?”

Ian let out a sigh. “That’s not all.”

Mia anxiously shook Ian’s arm. “Ian, can you just tell us everything at once? You’re driving me crazy!”

Ian said, “Andrea is actually the daughter of Mrs. Astrid Jordan’s second son. So, she’s her real granddaughter.”

“What?” Mia and Patrick both blurted out in shock.

Ian rubbed his temples, looking completely worn out.

The second son of Astrid was her favorite. He died young in a car accident, never even getting a chance to start a family.

Andrea donated a kidney to Astrid, and it turned out she was the only blood relative left from her second

son.

That was why Astrid was so protective of her and basically made Hanna and Gerardo take Andrea in as their adopted daughter, bringing her into the Jordan family.

From the way the rest of the Jordan family reacted tonight, it was pretty clear they still had no clue about Andrea’s true identity.

Mia was just staring in disbelief. ‘The Jordan family owes the Hamiltons big time. If they were really going to shield that little snake Andrea, how is Ian supposed to teach her a lesson now?’ she thought.

Meanwhile, Chloe was chatting with her best friend, Blair, about Andrea.

On the video call, Blair asked, “Chloe, are you and Eric still going to see where things go?”

Chloe lowered her gaze, staying silent for a long moment.

There was definitely a lot about Eric that drew her in.

She’d actually thought about trying to date Eric.

But now, Andrea was part of the Jordan family and was Eric’s sister.

Whenever Chloe saw Andrea, all she could think about was Ian and those awful memories from her previous life.

She’d used Andrea’s brother and sister-in-law to trick her into coming back to the country. Even if Andrea didn’t recognize her right now, that didn’t mean she wouldn’t figure it out someday.

Chloe just didn’t want to see Andrea, and honestly, she couldn’t deal with her at all.

A wry, self-mocking smile tugged at Chloe’s lips.

She told Blair, “Blair, I just can’t deal with all these complicated relationships. Maybe I’m just better off on my own.”

Eric was a great guy.

But in the end, he just wasn’t right for her.
