The Billion-Dollar Divorce (Ian and Chloe) novel Chapter 341

Chapter 341

After lan finished speaking, he gave Chloe a discreet look.

She was a neat freak and couldn’t handle anything dirty.

He wasn’t about to make the same mistake again.

Andrea saw Harold start to take off his coat, her cheeks flushed as she looked down in shame. “No, thanks. I’m not cold anymore.”

She’d thought Ian would at least give the Jordan family some face.

She didn’t expect him to actually ask Harold to take off his coat for her right there in front of everyone.

No doubt he was humiliating her on purpose.

Andrea was both angry and ashamed, her chest heaving with rage.

She thought, ‘Say what you will, I’m the adopted daughter of the Jordan family, the prized heiress of the Jordan family in Verdantville. Margaret, or his fiancée. None of them is a match for me. Ian is destined to be mine, one way or another.’

Mia grumbled to herself, a smug grin on her face. “So shameless. She totally had it coming!”

Chloe gave Mia’s sleeve a gentle tug, quietly warning her to watch it.

Even if Andrea was out of line, Astrid would still stand up for her.

Andrea shot Mia a look that could kill, furious but too scared to say anything.

Hanna and Gerardo exchanged an awkward glance and then dropped their gaze, clearly embarrassed.

Astrid got straight to the point. “Edward, we’re here today to have Andrea offer an apology to everyone.”

Astrid shot Andrea a look, and Andrea quickly stood up.

Andrea took a deep breath and stepped up to Edward.

Speaking with genuine sincerity, she said, “Mr. Hamilton, I was too reckless back then and didn’t know any better. I messed up, but I realize my mistakes now. Please, could you forgive me?”

‘Back then, those old folks from the Hamilton family used to look down on me for not having any background. But now, I’m the adopted heiress of the Jordan family. Those old-timers are bound to see me in a whole new light now, she thought.

Edward looked Andrea up and down, taking his sweet time before finally accepting the cup of coffee Harold handed him.

He just sat there in silence, and Andrea gave Astrid a pleading look, hoping for some backup.

Astrid gave Hanna and Gerardo a pointed look.

With a resigned sigh, Gerardo finally spoke, “Edward, it’s true Andrea was in the wrong before. We brought her here today to sincerely apologize. Please forgive her this once.”

Shane’s tone was tough. “Mr. Jordan, the Hamiltons, and the Jordans have always been tight. We don’t want to let one woman mess up years of friendship between our families.”

But then, Shane suddenly switched gears. “But Andrea? First, she set up my son lan and conned 20 million out of my dad.

“Then, after coming back, she didn’t learn her lesson and went on to steal our company’s top secrets. If Mr. Quinn hadn’t covered for her, someone as nasty as her would still be eating prison food right now.”

Hanna and Gerardo couldn’t hide their embarrassment.

Andrea stood in the middle of the living room, wringing her hands, awkwardness written all over her face.

‘Those stubborn old fossils,’ Andrea grumbled to herself. ‘Even now, they just can’t stop airing my dirty laundry.’

Chloe cast Ian a subtle glance, her face giving nothing away.

He was absentmindedly toying with his lighter, looking completely indifferent.

She understood Ian’s scheming and calculating nature better than anyone.

If he truly wanted Andrea behind bars, no matter how strong her connections were, she’d never be a match for him.

The only reason Henry kept managing to get Andrea out of jail was that Ian was showing her mercy.

When he loved her, no matter how messed up she was, he just couldn’t help but love her.

It didn’t matter if Ian wanted to admit it or not.

Even after two lifetimes, his feelings for Andrea never faded.

Shane looked right at Hanna and Gerardo. “Your kids are the best of the best, so why on earth would you make someone with such a bad rep your adopted daughter?”

Gerardo just hung his head, too embarrassed to say a word.

Hanna stood up and said, “Shane, to be honest, Andrea’s helped our family out before. For the sake of everything between our families, could you let bygones be bygones and give her a break this time?”

Hanna left it at that, not wanting to say more.

Andrea glanced at the Hamiltons, their expressions mixed, but not one of them looked ready to relent.

She ventured hesitantly, “Mr. Hamilton, I heard that if my grandma hadn’t saved you on the operating table back then, you—”

“Shut up!” Before Andrea could finish, Hanna and Gerardo barked at her in unison, cutting her off.

Andrea jumped, startled by their sudden outburst.

But she’d gotten what she wanted, so she shut up right away.

Miranda and Shane exchanged a look.

Edward’s face was stormy.

Ian still didn’t react at all, but Mia was about to lose it and start cursing, but Chloe stopped her just in time.

Andrea was obviously trying to play the gratitude card, basically forcing the Hamiltons to make peace with her.

Sure enough, Edward finally spoke up. His face was serious as he said, “Young people are bound to make mistakes. Since you came here in person, Astrid, let’s let bygones be bygones.”

Andrea was so relieved that she blurted out, “Thank you, Mr. Edward Hamilton! Thank you, Mr. Ian Hamilton!”

Ian glanced at Edward, his expression unreadable.

Back when Edward was gravely ill, none of the specialists dared to operate on him. Astrid was the only one willing to take the risk.

The surgery was a success. Edward recovered, and Astrid earned both recognition and respect.

And the Hamiltons always remembered what she did for them.
