The Jordan brothers were keeping their parents company in the room, sharing a meal and chatting together.

The huge dining room was filled with all kinds of delicacies, but only Astrid and Andrea sat at the table.

Astrid found out that no one else wanted to come for dinner. She was annoyed, but didn’t say anything about it.

Astrid tried to comfort Andrea, saying, “Andrea, don’t be upset. After all, they didn’t grow up with you, so it’s natural that the feelings aren’t that deep.

“But they spent the whole day searching for you. Hazel even wore herself out and got blisters on her feet. They really did their best.”

Andrea reassured her, “Grandma, I was the one at fault first. How could I blame them?”

Andrea slipped away to her room on a pretense and secretly called Violet.

Violet picked up the call downstairs at Xander and Melody’s place.

When she heard Andrea was being ignored and isolated by the Jordan family, her heart ached, and she grew worried..

Just then, Violet spotted Laura and Melody rushing into a black luxury car.

She said quickly, “Andrea, something’s come up. I’ll call you back later.”

She quickly hung up and hurried after them.

‘When did Laura’s family start getting mixed up with wealthy folks while I was lying low abroad with my daughter?’ Violet wondered.

Inside the black luxury car, Lucille glanced at Laura and Melody, who looked totally out of place in a ride like this. She wrinkled her nose in disgust, stifling a grimace.

Laura forced a smile and asked, “We don’t know you. Why are you looking for us?”

Lucille sighed, “You don’t need to know who I am. I just couldn’t sit back and do nothing, so I came to give you a heads-up.”

Laura and Melody exchanged a look.

Lucille asked Laura, “Is your daughter named Andrea?”

Laura’s face instantly grew wary. “How do you know about my daughter?”

Melody instinctively gripped Laura’s arm, signaling her to be careful.

‘Did that troublemaker get involved with some guy again, and now someone’s here because of it?’ Melody thought.

Lucille regarded Laura and Melody, a mocking smile playing at her lips.

She shook her head and sighed, “I wasn’t planning to meddle, but I just can’t watch you get played like this. So I thought I’d give you a friendly warning.”

Lucille paused and then said, “Laura, Andrea isn’t actually your daughter. She’s already reunited with her birth family and is a big-shot heiress now.”

Laura and Melody exchanged glances and then chuckled.

Melody quipped, “If she’s an heiress, then I must be the queen.”

Laura said, “Ma’am, please don’t joke with us. I know for sure Andrea is my daughter.”

Lucille slid a folder across the seat toward them.

Melody grabbed it right away.

Lucille said, “Violet is Andrea’s mom. The baby you gave birth to early didn’t survive. The Sherman family lied to you.”

Laura shot her a glare, eyes wide with shock. “Bullshit! Andrea is my daughter!”

Sure, Laura always favored her son and his family, and she definitely had a soft spot for the boys.

But Andrea was the one she’d raised herself, doing all the dirty work and looking after her from day one.

Meanwhile, Violet was off having her fun with random guys, never bothering to check in on Andrea or the family.

Melody’s face was a mix of shock and doubt as she clutched the folder, clearly torn between disbelief and suspicion.

She shot Laura a look and said, “How can you be so useless? Can’t you even tell if Andrea’s really your daughter? Just get a DNA test, and you’ll know for sure!”

Lucille nodded. “Andrea’s mom is Violet, and her dad was the Jordan family’s second son. He passed away in a car accident years ago, so Andrea is the only child he left behind.

“Andrea already did a DNA test with the Jordan family, and they even held a big family party to welcome her back. She’s the Jordan family’s heiress now. Didn’t she tell you guys?”

Laura and Melody completely freaked out.

They instantly bought everything Lucille said.

Laura was so mad that she almost passed out. “That little traitor! After all these years I raised her; now she’s got herself a rich daddy and won’t even answer my calls!”

Melody’s eyes sparkled as she egged Laura on. “We need to go after her right now.”

Lucille totally rained on their parade. “But Andrea’s been telling everyone that you never raised her at all. She claims Violet paid for everything and that you treated her horribly, even abused her growing up. She’s never had a kind word to say about you.”

Laura exploded, “That’s nonsense! My husband died of cancer when she was just a kid. I busted my back working day and night to put food on the table and get her through college. Talk about being heartless!”

Lucille let out another sigh. “Laura, you’ve been lied to and used by the Sherman family and Violet.”

Melody nudged Laura. “Laura, we can’t let that ungrateful brat get away with this. She needs to pay us back for every cent we spent raising her!”

Lucille added, “Violet always puts on that sweet act, but she’s cold-hearted as they come. She tricked you into raising her kid, and now that they’ve made it big, they’re out there making up stories about you.”

She went on, “Andrea’s the Jordan family’s heiress now. Mrs. Jordan said she’s set to inherit half of their fortune. Whatever Andrea wants, the Jordans just hand it over. She’s spoiled beyond belief.”

Melody gritted her teeth, muttering under her breath, “That little brat! She climbed her way to the top, and now she acts like she doesn’t even know us!”

Lucille added, “Violet is pregnant with Henry’s son. The Quinn family is one of the top eight in Kingsford, and Henry’s already filing for divorce just for her. Violet’s about to level up and become the Quinn family’s new queen, all because she’s having his kid.”

Laura was shaking with rage. “That bitch! I won’t let her get away with this!”

Lucille said, “Let’s be honest. You work yourself to the bone every single day and barely scrape by. They took advantage of you and wronged you first, so it’s only fair you go after them for compensation.”

Melody said, “Laura, starting tomorrow, I’m done helping out at the market. I’m sticking with you. We’re going to get what’s owed to us.”
