The Coma Prince’s Fiancée novel Chapter 111

Rebecca felt someone watching her from behind. She glanced over her shoulder, only to find no one there.

Wade noticed her sudden movement and looked back as well. “What’s up? Did you see someone you know?”

Rebecca shook her head. “No, it’s probably just my imagination.”

Wade didn’t question her and followed her into the private room.

No sooner had Rebecca stepped through the door than someone shot out from inside, shoving Wade aside to get to her. Elbert practically tackled her in a hug.

“Bekki! I’ve missed you like crazy!”

Wade stumbled, trying to steady himself. When he turned around to see Rebecca caught in Elbert’s hug, he couldn’t help but grumble.

“Elbert, get your hands off her. Rebecca’s with me. Let go, or I’ll make you regret it.”

Elbert was completely unfazed. “With you? Please. Bekki’s mine. If you so much as think about poisoning me, Bekki would never forgive you.”

Rebecca couldn’t stand the two of them bickering like jealous teenagers when they were both almost pushing a century together. She shot Susan a desperate look for help.

In all the years Susan had known Rebecca, she’d always seen her as the cool, unreadable type. Seeing her look so awkward now was pretty entertaining.

Susan watched their drama for a few seconds before stepping forward and rescuing Rebecca from the hug.

“It’s been a year since I last saw you, and you still look great. I’m relieved,” Susan said, teasing. “Now I can get on your case about writing new songs for me without feeling bad about it.”

Aaron frowned when he saw Nash walk all the way around the table, hand extended. Mr. White hated shaking hands with strangers. Aaron had warned Shirley about this, but she’d clearly ignored him.

Norris just sat there, looking cold. He didn’t even glance at Nash. Instead, he spoke to Shirley, as if Nash wasn’t even there. “You were pretty insistent about this, Shirley. What did you want to talk about?”

Nash’s smile froze for a split second when Norris refused to shake his hand. Even though they were about the same age, just being in the same room as Norris was enough to make the tension skyrocket.

But then Nash reminded himself that at least Norris couldn’t even stand. What did status matter if he was stuck in that chair? The thought made Nash feel a little better.

He thought he was good at hiding his feelings, but Norris had seen right through him from the very first moment.

Shirley picked up on the way Norris ignored Nash and felt a bit annoyed at his attitude. But she needed his help, so her voice softened. “Mr. White, Nash and I have something we really need your help with.”
