“I’ve been waiting a whole year for Ambrosia Vitae. There’s no way I’m leaving without it today. I bid five million dollars!”
The price shot up in an instant, putting Ambrosia Vitae completely out of reach for almost everyone there.
“Is this guy for real? The starting bid was just one million. He jumped it all the way to five?” someone whispered in disbelief.
Sophia muttered her annoyance but wasted no time jumping in. “Six million!”
“Six and a half million!”
“Seven million!”
The bidding flew higher and higher, and the whole room was buzzing, the tension almost electric.
Meanwhile, in a private suite, Aaron was glued to his laptop, giving Norris a play-by-play over video.
“Mr. White, Ambrosia Vitae is already at seven million. That’s way faster than we expected. Should we bid now?”
Norris’s eyes stayed locked on the screen, cool and unreadable. After a moment, his voice came low and steady. “Wait.”
Aaron swallowed, licking his dry lips. He’d attended plenty of auctions before, but nothing ever made him this jittery.
After all, this was Ambrosia Vitae.
Rumor said one dose could make an eighty-year-old feel young again.
People like him couldn’t even dream of bidding, but even he had to admit, the temptation was real. As for the others—those so-called “hungry wolves”—they’d been waiting for this forever.
Barely five minutes in, and the price had already rocketed to ten million.
Sophia glared at the screen as the numbers leapt beyond half her budget. “Why are there so many people in a tiny place like Harrisburg trying to snatch Ambrosia Vitae from me?” she grumbled.
Paulina knew this auction was going to be intense, but she’d never imagined the bidding for one pill would leap into eight figures.
She saw how flustered Sophia looked and leaned in, her voice gentle. “Sophia, don’t stress. We still have a shot.”
Sophia drew a slow, deep breath and managed to steady herself, getting back into the rhythm of bidding.
Rebecca watched the numbers keep climbing, her eyes thoughtful and calm.
