The Coma Prince’s Fiancée novel Chapter 78

An opportunity like this didn’t come around often, and Irvin had no reason to refuse. He smiled, “Thanks, I appreciate it.”

Rebecca arched a brow, quiet but watchful.

Irvin wanted to see Wade?

“Dean Ablitt, Wade’s getting pretty far ahead. If we don’t keep up, he’s going to yell at us,” Ablitt’s assistant whispered, eyeing Ablitt who was still busy chatting.

That snapped Ablitt back. “Paulina, Irvin, you’ve had a long trip. I won’t keep you. Get some rest.”

Paulina watched Ablitt jog off after Wade, turning the thought over in her mind. “Irvin, President Wade hardly ever comes back to campus. Ablitt is usually the one running everything. Who could be important enough for Wade to make this kind of appearance?”

Irvin watched Wade get further away, then shook his head. “I really don’t know.”

His gaze drifted over to Rebecca. She had that acceptance letter with Wade’s personal seal. And on top of that, Wade had personally shown up for her first day, waiting at the gates with a whole group of people…

The questions he’d buried started bubbling up again.

But then he glanced at Rebecca, completely lost in her game, as if none of this meant anything to her. Maybe, he thought, he was overthinking it.

Figuring this out might mean digging into her background again.

Was he really going to do that? He wasn’t sure. That question lingered in his mind.

“Paulina!”

Paulina had barely stepped out of the car and taken her suitcase when a crowd rushed toward her in a wave.

“Paulina, finally!”

“Magee just left, but he said to wait for you and see if you needed help with anything.”

Being the center of attention clearly suited Paulina. She lit up. “Don’t worry, Irvin came today to help me move in. Seriously, you guys should go rest. No need to fuss over me.”

“No kidding, your family’s genes are wild. One good-looking person after another.”

Paulina’s smile faded for a second. This was the one thing she couldn’t stand.

She took a breath, forcing herself to hold it together, and gave them her sweetest smile.

“She actually is my sister. I told you guys before, remember? I mentioned in the group chat to keep an eye out for her.”

Her words finally jogged everyone’s memory. They vaguely remembered something about a small-town relative who had dropped out of college.

They’d imagined someone awkward and shy, not someone this well put together—and downright stunning.

Paulina saw all their gazes flock to Rebecca and couldn’t help but feel irritated.

Just then, one of her friends, always sharp, knew exactly what to say.

“So you’re the new student Paulina recommended, right? First time on campus? Here’s the deal… At Vantage Point University, we’ve got this kind of tradition. Every new student gets a fitness test when they arrive. If you don’t pass, you might get admitted, but you’ll have a hard time earning any respect from us older students.”
