Chapter 237
Autumn Lopez never expected Nathan Parker to double cross her
Technically speaking, what Nathan was doing right now was turning the tables and blaming the victim
She had been willing to give him the dirt on Mars Wright because she knew he had a grudge against Mars. Plus, at his age, he wouldn’t act as rashly as a younger man and would surely handle things with a steady hand, not leaving Mars any openings to exploit.
That would mean less trouble for her.
But she never imagined that instead of going after Mars Wright, Nathan would create a massive problem for
her first.
What did he mean by that I’m sorry” just now?
Was he planning to go with the flow and admit that she was the one he was having an affair with?
Autumn’s face darkened. She reached out and grabbed Nina, who was poised to lunge forward like a feral cat to defend her, and glanced sideways at Owen Bennett.
Their eyes met in a moment of perfect understanding. With a subtle shift, Autumn pulled Nina behind Owen. When Mrs. Parker saw such an incredibly handsome man stepping up for Autumn, the fury in her eyes burned even hotter.
“You little tramp! Isn’t it enough that you hooked up with my Nathan? You have to juggle multiple guys, too?!”
Mrs. Parker was no longer young, and she despised beautiful young women who used their youth to shamelessly seduce married men.
Seeing Autumn not only messing around with her husband but also having a “knight in shining armor” protecting her, while she herself was old and fading, unable to even hold onto her own husband’s heart–the injustice of it all overwhelmed her.
“Are you her boy toy? How much does she pay you a month? I bet you don’t know, but the money she gives you is all scammed and cheated from my Nathan. I’d advise you to stay far away from this little bitch, unless you want to get dragged through the mud with her.”
Nina was so angry she felt like her lungs were about to explode.
“It’s official. Those two are definitely aunt and niece. They even sound exactly the same.”
Autumn had been furious, but Nina’s sarcastic comment made the corner of her mouth twitch, and she nearly laughed out loud.
Seeing that she was completely unfazed, Nina’s face relaxed into a smile as well.

“Autumn, don’t let it get to you. My brother and I both believe you”
“I refuse to believe anyone who’s met my brother would even look at another guy. Accusing you of cheating la basically an insult to my brother. Just watch how he takes them down!”
Autumn had originally thought Nina’s faith in her came from trusting Owen’s judgment.
Hearing this, she didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
“Your brother would definitely be happy to hear that.”
“Hey, don’t you dare tell him, Autumn. For my brother, even being compared to these people is an insult
“Hahaha…”
Seeing Autumn not only unafraid but actually laughing and joking after being accused of being a homewrecker, Mrs. Parker and the others assumed she was just being arrogant because she felt untouchable.
“Get out of the way, boy toy! This is a catfight, you don’t need to get involved. You wouldn’t want to get hurt by
accident.”
Mrs. Parker’s voice lacked conviction as she said this.
After all, Owen Bennett just looked like trouble. The way he stood there was enough to make your legs go weak and your heart pound with fear.
She was starting to regret not bringing more relatives with her.
Having some backup would be better than just standing here awkwardly.
This was utterly humiliating.
“Auntie, forget about him. They’re all in it together. I say we should take them all on. I mean, what kind of good person hangs out with a homewrecker?”
Madelyn Carter loved to stir the pot. She already couldn’t stand Autumn, so by extension, she had a bad impression of Owen, who was standing by her side..
At first, she thought a guy that handsome must be blind to fall for Autumn.
But then she reconsidered. Maybe they were just two peas in a toxic pod. She couldn’t stand people like them, and this was the perfect opportunity to teach them a lesson.
Madelyn’s words put Mrs. Parker on the spot. Now, it was awkward whether she fought or not.
If she charged, it was obvious she couldn’t win against Owen.
Even though he hadn’t lifted a finger, his presence was so intense that no one dared to approach.

But if she didn’t, she’d already made all those threats. Backing down now would mean she was scared of the homewrecker and her crew. What would that do to her reputation?
“Alright, that’s enough. Whatever you have to say, let’s talk about it at home.”
Just as the atmosphere reached a stalemate, Nathan Parker walked over with the police.
“Folks, let’s all calm down and talk this out.”
Seeing the police arrive to mediate, Mrs. Parker felt a wave of relief, but her expression grew even more aggressive. “The police are here! You have to set things straight for us! This homewrecker is unbelievably arrogant!”
“Can’t young girls these days earn money with their own two hands? My Nathan is so old, how can she not be picky at all? How can she even stomach that?”
Being dissed like that by his own wife, Nathan’s face went from pale to red, a real sight to behold. Madelyn Carter clutched her friend’s hand tightly, instinctively tensing up at the sight of the police.
Her friend, Hailey, was even more nervous than Madelyn.
Her mind raced, trying to come up with an excuse to get out of there.
But Madelyn held onto her, and she couldn’t think of a good reason to leave. All she could do was stand there rigidly, her eyes darting around, not daring to make eye contact with anyone.
“Are you the ones who called the police?”
The officers didn’t immediately respond to Mrs. Parker.
When they got the call, they thought it was a violent assault, only to arrive and find a verbal dispute.
