Hailey rolled her eyes, nearly fainting on the spot.

“Are these two for real?*

Nina became Hailey’s mouthpiece, asking the very question on her mind.

“Who do you think you are, little girl? Do you have any right to speak here?” Mrs. Parker looked down on Nina, her eyes filled with contempt. “You hang out with a homewrecker like Autumn Lopez, so I bet you’re just as dirty. So young and already looking for shady shortcuts. You’ll all get what’s coming to you sooner or later!”

“Don’t you dare make up lies like that!”

Nina had never been humiliated like this before. She rolled up her sleeves, ready to have it out with the aunt

and niece.

“Alright! Everyone, quiet down!”

The police officer could see it clearly now. Mrs. Parker and her niece were just being completely

unreasonable.

In a way, that made the case simpler.

“We’re going to need all of you to come with us to the station.”

They couldn’t keep blocking the entrance. The commotion had already attracted the attention of quite a few passersby.

To prevent a public disturbance, the officers escorted the group into their patrol cars.

Nathan Parker was both shocked and terrified. “Officer, this is all a misunderstanding…”

As a businessman, he was deeply wary of places like the police station.

If people saw him and started spreading rumors, it would be a huge blow to his reputation.

Mrs. Parker had already started to panic at the mention of going to the station.

The more Mrs. Parker yelled, the more agitated she became, her words growing uglier. Nathan’s face turned beet red, and he lunged forward to hit her, completely ignoring the fact that the police were right there.

“Hey, what do you think you’re doing?”

Protected by the police, Mrs. Parker felt fearless. She even craned her neck to provoke him further. “What, you’re going to hit me now? You think I’m scared of you, you old bastard?”

“Without me, you’re nothing! Let’s get a divorce–I dare you! You’re the one who cheated, so don’t even think about taking a single thing. I’d love to see if your little mistress still wants to have your baby when you’re old, broke, and jobless!”

Nathan’s mouth twitched violently. He had thought his wife would just make a scene and get over it.

He never expected her to have no filter, to say such horrible things. Now, the Parker family’s dirty laundry was completely aired out for everyone to see.

Madelyn stood by her aunt’s side, glaring daggers at Nathan.

He knew he couldn’t count on her to calm her aunt down. He sighed in defeat, finally understanding what the old saying “marry a good woman” really meant.

To outsiders, his life looked glamorous. In reality, he had spent the first half of his life being crushed under his wife’s thumb.

Her family was more powerful than his, and they had helped him a lot in his career.

At first, Nathan was always grateful, so he treated his wife very well.

But she couldn’t handle the hardship of childbirth. He wanted a son, but she always made excuses and was

They reminded him that more than half of his current fortune was thanks to their family’s support. They said he couldn’t be so ungrateful, taking their help only to scheme against them. It was no different from those guys who marry rich just to drain the family dry.

It was precisely because he couldn’t stand this endless humiliation that he started avoiding home, which gave someone else an opportunity to get close.

The other girl was young, and she was, in fact, pregnant now. All Nathan wanted was for her to have the baby safely and peacefully.
